What else does GGG need to do to be considered an ATG?

Hya Frank. Yes I go back even further than you. In fact just last week I was carbon dated !:patsch. f, we have to laugh especially on ESB with many new posters who are not thoughtful when it comes to GGG. They foolishly BLAME GGG for not fighting top MWS to bolster his standing as a great middleweight of modern times...As if it his fault that every 160 pound fighter avoids him
like a fungus. It is so darn obvious that this is the case and yet these neophytes spout this garbage. He GGG is truly feared for a damn good reason, he is a baby faced assassin today. Not only is he a very very hurtful puncher, but a fine thoughtful all around boxer with as vicious a left jab as I have seen since watching boxing from the 1940s on...Then some say foolishly because he dominates his division today [a compliment they don't realize] Golovkin should tackle LHs to prove his worth as a great middleweight . Well you naysayers, did a Hagler [a great MW] have to prove his greatness after dominating his MW times by fighting top LHs of his time like a Mathew Franklin and other
top lightheavyweight fighters of his time to pas their silly litmus test ? Hell NO. I am not suggesting that Hagler didn't fight better
MW competition than GGG has today. Not at all. But it is NOT the fault of Golovkin that the guys today he destroys are not as good as some of the middleweights that Hagler fought in his day...
No champion is responsible for the quality of his competition so
long as he dominates whoever has the cujones to fight him...
So F, nice to know there are a few "oldtimers " on ESB still punching, and my kudos to Gennady Golovkin whom I rank
on sheer ability with any middleweight I've seen since the 1940s
and also he happens to be a polite and sincere guy who gives
today's fight fans "DRAHMMA" as he puts it...:good

Challenge himself... Abel Sanchez said it, and it's true GGG is the real deal and Yes, no one at 154 or 160 can challenge him. I agree with that statement. So challenge yourself against someone at 168 or 175. The ATG's with the exception of the heavyweights, (and Hagler) did. I'm finally a fan of his though. Still can't stand his fanboys. But What I have seen lately, and I've watched his last 15 fights just recently is somebody who is the total package. Not too much speed, but everything else, and what he lacks in speed he more than makes up for with great technique and timing. Now I wanna see just how good he really is, fight Ward, Kovalev, even though he's probably done now, fight Dawson, Pascal. Let's see him really test himself, he'll become an ATG if he continues his current path. Has 20-25 title defenses at MW, but still will be nowhere near the status of a Bhop, or Monzon, or Hagler. He goes up and beats Ward, Kovalev. holds the 168 or 175 belt for some time. He could throw his name in there with the best ever.

I like 3G but I'm afraid you cant count the "nothing title" defences, ie interim, anymore than you can count Chris eubank junior as a real titlist. 3G has a long way to go to break bhops record.

this interim shyte has got to stop, they are a joke. super is the title and that's it, none of this super shyte either, its JUST the world title.

He looks to have the talent. But, he does not have the competition in his division, the time most likely, and perhaps desire to do what it takes to prove it. So, I'd say he has a lot left to do.
