I had never heard of him going into the fight but he turned out to be an Asian version of Gatti... a lot of heart and provided a hell of an exciting fight for the fans
Damn, I always watched that fight on Stage 6 and it was taken off before I could download it. Anyone know where to see or get a high quality version like that?
czar has quite a story. he's sort of a prodigal son in his stable. he quit on them once then he got knocked out cold in the first round by a journeyman. then he apologized and went back to his former stable. i too have never seen czar perform that way. you may think that filipinos were not surprised with that performance but the truth is that even we haven't seen him fight like that before. he showed tremendous heart in that fight more than anything else. and i still think he should have won that fight on cuts. katsidis' eyes were near the vittali level.
Yeh I heard that in between stables he was getting into trouble with the law too, but once he went back he applied himself 100%; which is who we saw for that fight and I was genuinly impressed
Thais are not boring.. They have lots of great fighters in the amateurs (might raked lots of gold this coming olympic), very slick moving and very different styles from the rugged veteran pros we've accustomed watching against rated pinoy fighters.. But for some reason most of them doesn't want to turn pro.
"I badly want to see a rematch with katsidis, that was a good one" I don't. There are some matchups in boxing in which the fighters are not good enough to stop each other, but are so evenly matched and have enough fire power that they risk killing each other in the ring. This is a fight where I had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. (At the time I thought it would be Katsidis who would be damaged for life). There are certain "great fights" that I would rather not see. - Jason
Czar got the bad end of the deal, but I think given on his heart in this fight he deserved the rematch
