The droopy eye lid forced him to retire. If it weren't for his defective eye, he would've knocked Tito out.

Is that finally what did him in? I know he had several surgeries trying to get it fixed.

dude reid fought Tito in like his 13th fight or something like that. If not for the eye that would have been a fight that wouldnt have happened for another 1 or 2. By then Reid would have been a more seasoned fighter and likely would have finished off Tito. Remember he hurt Tito alot in that fight.

From what I understand his managment knew he would have a short career. He had eye problems from the start of his career. I'm not sure when they started or if he had them or not when he won gold in the Olympics. He was abe to take advantage of the publicity of winning the gold medel and get big fights all most right away. I don't know how much the Trinidad fight shortened his Career but I think he probbly would have retired after 20 fights any ways 25 fights tops.

He ran into Felix "Tito" Trinidad in his prime and ended up like many unfortunate fighters.

absolutely. He had to get the big fights in a short period of time...b/c of his eye he was going to have a short career regardless, but showed his worth by winning a title early, and giving tito a good bout. But like many Tito opponents, he was ruined afterwards.

Tito did not ruin him. The guy had a ****ed up eye. If you want to see an example of a ruined fighter, watch Tito post Hopkins.

Dude, he went from giving Tito a tough go for a bit, to losing to Sam Hill.
