Is he a bust? ... this guy was on the verge of doing so many great things, he's a former Olympian (Mexico) and he turned pro at while still in his teens.

This guy had the world in front of him for the taking and hasn't lived up to the hype.

I for one thought that he was going to be a world champion ... I thought that he was going to take the boxing world by storm ... with skill, speed, power, and savvy ...

When he stepped up in class against Jesse James Leja he lost, he also recently loss to Steve Forbes (after an almost 3 yr layoff) ... i'm wondering does this guy have much of a window of opportunity ...
He still has his youth, but in boxing years and given that he's been a pro for 7 yrs ...

    What do you guys think?

He's a welterweight now.... They said that he'd be a better pro than Rocky Juarez.. Anyways, because he's at welter, thats a deep division so he has a better selection of quality fighters to choose from... If he could make 140, he may be a contender... BTW, I was rootin for Leija that night....

Damn ... I was over my boy's house and his dad was the only one picking Leja.

I don't know if Bajodo and Juarez are any different ... the difference maybe that Juarez had achieved a silver medal in the biggest international amateur boxing tournament.

    I can't say ...

But do you think that Bojado is a bust? ... he's younger than Juarez ... but Juarez has had 3 title shots ...

I have yet to see Bojado have a title shot ... and am wondering if he ever will.

He has one of those most powerful promoters behind him and has a good amateur background. At 24-25 how much can he do at this point?

He lost all hope after leija. I bet if he would have won that night everything would be different for the guy. I seen him against Forbes and he was ok but he would be much better at a smaller weight...Golden boy should get him some fights and more exposure

I thought that fight with Forbes was much closer but hey its official ...

Do you think he can gain a title? ... he still floating in between WW and JWW.

You think he could do much against a world class opponent? ... he has a sturdy chin ... i'm sure he can fight against someone like Demetrius Hopkins, Paulie Malignaggi, Ricardo Torres, or Rees ... and possibly win or outbox them.

He hired Floyd Sr as his trainer ... I don't know if he was in his corner for the Forbes fight (i'll have to check the tape) but **** I would think it wouldve paid off for him. (from a boxing and defensive standpoint)

How weak is that ... he's not going to be able to make no bread doing that ... he was on the verge of something good.

    Thats truely a shame ...

That is one downfall that doesn't get looked at ... i'm sure a guy like Kermit Cintron will follow.

    It's not that simple...

Pro boxing is not a job or something like learning a language where it is guaranteed that you'll get better and better in time. Bojado had crazy potential, just the mental part prooved to be a deficit of his... it takes a very very strong mind to go through the whole process to become a champion (or just a contender) one day and the opponents are all out there to hurt you and knock you out... He did blew his potential, but it might not have been intentional - he might just lacked the strong character to develop into the fighter everyone was expecting. It's so damn hard to perform if they're expecting the rebirth of Jesus Christ in your every fight, and if you fail to perform on their dream level, it's 3 days in hell getting all the trash...

From what I can gather, Bojado lacks mental toughness and does not deal well with adversity.

Having said that, I thought he eeked out both fights against Leija and Forbes!

I thought he sucked ass from the beginning. Watched with GLEE as th truth was proven. Frozen Potato is one of the most over hyped "Olympians" to ever grace a ring.

I have permanent love for Jesse James Leija for showing old Potato the difference between Pro's and amateur's.

Potato along with Fraudley Harrison are 2 of the BEST EXAMPLES that while amateur success can be a key part of a great pro career? Its certainly no guarantee.

Dont care to ever see him again. If I'm unfortunate enough to be watching a televised card in which he appears? I'll root for FURTHER PROOF of Potato getting served:good Prefer mashed with gravy!!!
