I still feel awful for the guy. Did his family end up winning the court case against the WBA? Did they ever get the money for his massive hospital bills?
Footage of Magomed now starts around 16 minutes in, he's doing better but still not in great shape. [yt]Ji5pjTiiwd0[/yt]
Wow. The realities of boxing when the lights go out and fans go home. No one has your best interest in mind but your family and you. Not your corner, manager, promoter, fans, no one. When I saw Magomed, I thought about Blackwell and Mike Zarafa from the Quillin fight. Makes you think that maybe Mayweather was right all along about health coming first and not taking massive punishment in the ring. Foreman is in better shape than Ali today and Ali beat foreman, so it makes you think.
"With Abdusalamov's family facing "staggering" medical bills from the very start, promoters Sampson Lewkowicz, Lou DiBella, Leon Margules, and others called for donations and set up a trust fund. The Abdusalamov family is also accepting donations directly and boxing charity Ring 10 has similarly called for donations." "News reports didn't clarify those who set up trust funds put money themselves into said trust funds."
Sad,very sad:-( And what about Denis Boytsov?? Any news about him??? He had the potential and talent to be a world champ at the pros. :-(
I still for the life of me cannot see how MSG Arena the doctors & promoters are not being deemed responsible for the lack of treatment allowed To Mago, The fact a doctor supposedly examined & cleared him to leave the arena. Then his team had to hail a cab to take him to emergeancy room which was reprehensible. Where were the para medics & amblulences This tragedy not only ruined Mago's career but his opponent Mike Perez is a shell of the fighter he once was
Apples and oranges, Boytsov didn't take his career seriously, it cost him his title shot. No sympathy for him at all here.
