Judging from boxing magazines from the late eighties and nineties many boxers used PONY boots and trunks. Wonder what happened to them. Did they go bankrupt or did they merge with another company?

It wasn't just boxing gear, they made a range of sporting apparel. I haven't heard of them since the mid 90's.

Edit: used Google. They still make sport shoes.

    I chuckled a lil bit.

I see people with Pony on, on occasion. People that try to be purposely "retro".

Pony! Man, I was rockin Pony’s in 1st grade because of Larry Holmes. I also would take white calf socks and put a red Pony logo on them with a marker to make them look like Larry’s and wear them when I boxed in the basement and I wore them when watching him fight.

Pony was owned by the English-based company Pentland in the 1990s before a sale to The Firm entertainment group, based in Santa Monica, California. The Firm relaunched the brand in 2001. I'm guessing while they were gone the big boys took over.

PONY is the only brand sneaker my father wears and when I was a kid they were the only brand cleats he bought for me.
