was an really good fight commentator on the old Tuesday Night Fights USA. He did a great job of commentating, unlike Max Kellerman, Roid Jones and Jim Lampley, hell, I'd like to see Larry Merchant come back, at least he would have the nerve to tell the truth!

I don't know, wish I could find out. Perhaps I will look his name up on the Net. He really was a good commentator though. Miss the old USA Tuesday Night Fights...............from the Blue Horizon...............Sean beat Emanuel Steward's first world champion from the Kronk Gym Hilmer Kenty, it was 15 rounds of pure hell!

His commentary days were over based on a comment he made that Italian boxers possessed solid chins. I can still remember Gil Clancy being aggravated by the remark and making him explain exactly what he meant. Sean defended by mentioning Marciano and Lamotta. I never saw him commentating again after that which I thought was unfair. The networks must have quietly shown him the door. He was stripped of the WBA lw title he had won from Hilmer Kenty for failing to defend. His Father/manager cried foul then formed the World Athletic Association and instilled Sean as it's champion. Up until that time there was only the WBC and the WBA so you could blame papa O'grady for getting the ball rolling on the something like 25 boxing commissions which exists today. He apparently now lives in a small university town in Florida.

I think he said during a Boom Boom Mancini fight that Mancini "takes a good punch for an italian" but I don't think he got sacked for that. He went on to USA Tues. night fights but when that folded I guess there was no more work for him. Guess I'll google him and see what is up

hahha, I just mentioned him last week up here. I have to do a search and find my post. He was unbiased. HBO commentators are disgusting. Ogrady had no invested interest in the fighters on TNF

O'Grady could be kind of corny at times, but compared to unqualified hacks like Kellerman, he's fabulous. I remember the TNF days fondly, watched that show religiously. On thing I recall vividly is that he would repeatedly use the phrase "stepping in post-holes" to describe a hurt boxer.

Loved me some Teusday night fights. I worked night shift in a freezer, 10-15 below zero. I had split days off, which sucked, but I had Teusday night off and one of my brother's was off on Wednesday. So we would watch the fights BBQ and drink beers. Good memories. And yes, Sean O'Grady was a damn good commentator.
