What ever i think is going on, what ever ISIS thinks is going on, what ever Shadow thinks is going on, what ever anybody thinks is going on between those 3 and Eddie Hearn, Wilder should take the Whyte fight. Im still not getting my head around why Wilder wouldnt want to take it, i know he wants to fight Joshua next but Hearn has stated Joshua isnt guna fight again until late in the year, November at the earliest (he thinks anyway). Whether you see that as a plan to duck Wilder or not that leaves Wilder all summer to face Whyte. He is near enough if not already his mandatory, he is being offered more money than he already was from Hearn which was already double his highest ever payday and if we are all honest the chances are he demolishes Dillian Whyte easily. If he did that and then Hearn or AJ turned round and put some more hoops for him to jump through then we will all know for sure thatHearn or both Hearn and Joshua dont want it and have just been roadblocking. But if he did that and they did that then he has still beaten the WBC silver belt holder, made a load of money, added one of the best names on his resume, can make even more noise about Joshua and more people will be looking at Matchroom and wondering what the hell is going on there after all. Ofcourse if Hearn is being legit and Wilder is happy to sit and wait until late in the year then by all means sit and wait. Im in no rush to see Wilder vs Whyte at all. But every single time i look at this fight i see nothing but win win for Deontay Wilder. And as for Wilder not being dictated to by Matchroom and being fed AJ left overs thats fine but its only a matter of time before the WBC dictate to you the same thing and if he does take another fight in the summer there is a good chance that is Brazeale, an AJ left over.
This. The only reason Wilder wants joshua isn't the belts or bragging rights.... He just wants a payday to set his life up for good. Beating Whyte would do very little for "outside of boxing" publicity. Beating Joshua would shoot him getting every sponsorship deal under the sun, a career payday, solid TV appearances etc. Its a business.
Wilder fought a few weeks before AJ. Their schedules align perfectly for the end of the year. There is no reason for Wilder to have to fight Whyte before AJ. Wilder already beat Ortiz, who AJ avoided fighting. If Wilder took the Whyte fight, Eddie Hearn would make the Big Baby v AJ fight citing Wilder's busy. The American Heavyweight Champion of the World has AJ shook.
