This is NOT a hater thread. As a fan, I am in the Kilt corner, but I think Haye is a credit to his sport and have nothing against him and his fans. I would just like some of his fans to take the time to answer these questions: 1) Do you think Haye hits significantly harder than Sam Peter, Lamon Brewster, Sultan Ibragimov, and Rahmen? I know that Wladdy has been stopped three times- two of them were gas outs, which is not to take it away from the other fighter, but the fact is that from my point of view, Wlad has been hit at least as Haye is going to hit him from legitimate, big punching heavies. 2) How does a man who has been dropped and stopped by cruisers going to take Wlad's punches? Self explanatory. I don't see man who has had life and death struggles with McKormick as being capable of getting in there with a muurderous punching heavy like Wlad. 3) Klit has solved his stamina problems, has Haye? Klit realized that 50% of his problems were stamina related and he trains and paces himself for it. I have seen no such transformation form Haye. From my perspective, the bigger, stronger man is going to have the stamina advantage here. 4) Do you think that Haye is really going to have a speed advantage? If so, is it going to be enough to close the huge size difference? 5) What is going to happen in the clincehs? Isn't wrestling with a much bigger, stronger man (and you know it will happen) going to wear Haye down? 6) Who has Haye beaten to make you so confident? Good Crusiers like McKormeck and Maccarelli, a C level heavy in Bonin and a faded B level guy in Barret (which was not an easy fight for him) is his resume. I myself am a Povetkin fan and I would like to see my guy take a few more hard fights before he steps up- so I am talking sense as I see it here. I don't see your guy as having beaten anyone that on an absolute level (as oppossed to pound per pound) is in Wlad's universe. The only common opponent I know is Barret. Wlas beat him much more convincingly (not knocked down) when Barret was much better and wlad was still very green. But back to the major point: Wlad's competetion, in absolute, non-pound for pund terms is light years beyond Haye's. No hate here. Again, I respect Haye as a unifed beltholder. I just want to hear the answers.
Simple; Wlad has crummy punch resistance, Haye is a massive puncher. Unlike the last fewof Wlad's opponents, Haye comes to win, is in shape and won't give up after tasting the jab. I honestly think Haye knows he is going to lose so he will run into Wlad at the beginning of the 1st rnd. We all know Wlad is a slow starter and can be hurt so I wouldn't be surprised if Haye beat him.
I'm a fan of both and give Haye zero chance in this one, the way he kept jumping back and forth with the negotiations should be good enough proof that even he is hinting that he can be trashed here. The Barret fight should be good enough proof, Haye was hurt in that one and Barret isn't even Wlad's size, doesn't have the same skill and doesn't punch as hard. Haye is in for a beating.
ACtually sir, I am nearly blind blind drunk. Mormeck. I don't want to get in a argument with you, please do not name call on my thread. I tried to set the tone by saying that I like Haye and his fans.
Friends don't let friends drink and post. I agree with your thesis for the most part and heavily favour Vlad. Only question is the speed factor - I don't think Vlad has faced anyone quite like him, so that's the wildcard. I think the 1 or 2 round blitz is his big hope. Still, 80/20 fight IMO. Don't expect too many reasoned responses though - I think most analysis can be summarized as "Vlad sucks, is overrated and has no chin".
Speed Those other guys were slow exept for Brewster and Sanders but we know what they did to Wlad. What Haye doesnt have though unlike Brewster and Sanders is a chin. Brewster was able to wether the storm and come back, I dont see Haye doing the same. Haye has to come out gunz blazing in the 1st round hop[ing to catch Wlad early. Also Haye doesnt have stamina to go to war for 9 rounds and TKO Wlad in the 10.
did you watch the ones where he gets knocked down over and over...or the ones where he quit because he was tired? or the one where they used vasoline over his body and he couldnt sweat and ran out of gas?
I favour Wlad heavily, but Haye has a significant chance in my opinion. Even if he does not knock Wlad cold with one punch, simply landing heavy punches on Klitschko may be enough to throw him off his gameplan long enough for Haye to score the upset. Not that I would be surprised if Wlad won easily, mind you.
I favor Wlad in this fight, But Haye should give Wlad his toughest defense of the the 2-3 belts to date. He has more speed and aggression then the rest, and is always in good shape. 60 / 40 for Wlad, maybe 65 / 35, but I wouldnt be shocked if Haye pulls out a KO win.
the thing here is you are only talking about Wlad bad fights from years back.. Today Wlad has improved so much that he is pretty much like different boxer. But when we watch Haye he is and has always been the same. Haye havent look very impressive ever. watch his fight against Barret, JMM and Fragomeni...atschatsch
Haye hasn't fought against a good heavy yet. Wlad will be the first one and I'm sure he will be too much for him. Wlad's jab and punching power will make the difference.
