Its a puncher that fights off a Jab and can use lateral movement. The good ones can punch going backwards. Most can't.
Boxer-Punchers are fighters who fights with a certain level of aggression. They have a fighter's mentally and isn't afraid to mix it up and throw power punches, but at the same time, they can also box pretty well.
I'm not sure. I'm leaning more on Erik Morales abd Pac as a better example than JMM. EDIT: Not sure how reliable this is, but according to wikipedia: Boxer-puncher Sugar Ray Robinson prompted sportswriters to create "pound for pound" rankings A boxer-puncher is a well-rounded boxer who is able to fight at close range with a combination of technique and power, often with the ability to knock opponents out with a combination and in some instances a single shot. Their movement and tactics are similar to that of an out-fighter (although they are generally not as mobile as an out-fighter[citation needed]), but instead of winning by decision, they tend to wear their opponents down using combinations and then move in to score the knockout. A boxer must be well rounded to be effective using this style. Notable punchers include Nonito Donaire, Sam Langford,[18] Henry Armstrong,[19] Joe Louis,[20] Sugar Ray Robinson,[21] Tony Zale, Archie Moore, Carlos Monzón[22] Alexis Argüello, Erik Morales, Lennox Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko, Oscar de la Hoya, Terry Norris, James Toney, Marco Antonio Barrera, Manny Pacquiao, Thomas Hearns, Miguel Cotto and Victor Ortiz
I think of them as fighters that can hit hard, but prefer to actually box. It's a dangerous combination, if they've really worked well on their boxing skills, because if they don't get you with the technical stuff then they can lower the boom with the big shots. Wlad's a good case. He's happy to jab all night long, but he still hits bloody hard and if he's got you worn down he'll look for the knockout.
