Like 'Pockets' said above, mexican style = big drama show! The name is misleading, there is no "style". Rather its a set of attributes that a mexican fighter MUST have in order to be loved in his country. Heart, Chin, power, and willingness to leave it all in the ring.
I don't ever remember seeing James Toney fight De La Hoya vs Trinidad on the last three rounds style, or Floyd's back peddling -clinching style. Forget all that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9u2QcQ6BvQ
People like you put your own expectations on Floyd and what you expect goes against the grain of what he's all about. Then when you don't get what you want, you try and hold him accountable. You knew going in that he is a master boxer and he fights to win. If you can't appreciate boxing at his highest level then you only have yourself to blame. Now, you can call him whatever you want to, but you can't call him broke, you can't call him dumb and you can't call him a loser.
Have you seem JCC Sr, Finito, Morales, Canelo, Marquez, Sal Sanchez, and several elite P4P legends who had great defense and or had tremendous skill. No running needed to avoid punches... just good ol' in the pocket defense.
Canelo is up there already? Just NO! The only skill Canelo has is losing weight. He's too scared to fight at the MW division even though he's fought there in his last three fights.
Mexican style is having no defense, being flat footed and slow. Being a punching bag, but staying throwing back. Its basically saying don't have a defense.
He out slicked Trout. He reduced Lara to soft 1-2s all night and to running likes he's never ran in any other fight. He neutralized Angulo's offense almost completely, more than what the "slick D" Lara was able to do. He demolished Kirkland and barely got hit clean, maybe only once or twice was Kirkland able to land anything clean. Aside Ishida no other fighter had escaped the power of Kirkland that way. Canelo also has the best resume at 154, and has a better record than GGG, or any top fighter around his division. It's pretty clear Canelo is elite and one of the best P4P fighters today.
These are fighters of the PAST. Who are the present Mexican fighters that are suppose to rep this style???? Even Canelo wants to be more boxer than brawler. Where are the ****ing Mexicans??? Other than that people are trying to give credibility to white Russian fighters by selling them to Latin fight fans as Mexican style guys. They ARE NOT MEXICAN!!!!:-(
Lol...brawler is not an exclusive MX style.... MX has one of the best Technicians of all time with Ricardo Lopez. MX has two of the best in-fighters of all time, JCC SR., and Duran reps MX from time to time. MX has one of the best boxer-punchers of all time in Sal Sanchez. You need to get schooled in MX style. MX style is not actually a set of skills used, but rather a mind set, mentality...boxing is 90% mental. That mentality is; offense is the objective, use defense and any other tool to fulfill objective. Hurt your opponent... that's why Mexicans throw with mean intention.
Canelo As far away from Mexican Style as you can get. Guy was running away from Mayweather's jabs like they were rockets. :rofl
Well, he's learned since. He didn't run away from harder punchers in Lara, Angulo, Kirkland... you just sour.
Absolutely embarrassing. F^ck could anyone call him a warrior? I hate seeing him walk in with the flag. I just hope Golovkin decapitates him soon.
