What exactly is the problem with Pavlik-Mora?

But Forrest isn't exactly an average JMW. The guy still has game and personally, I would pick him to beat Floyd at that weight too, so losing to Forrest isn't as bad as people are making it out to be.

Can you name any other middleweight fighters that are slick counterpunchers?

And despite what another poster said, Mora has solid defense. It's basically the main thing along with his jab that makes him a solid fighter.

Great, now the MW champ is taking on someone who can beat a guy that you pick to beat a small WW.

You asked what was the problem with the fight. The problem is that Mora just got whooped in his last and, no one is interested in seeing this fight.

Mora sucks and was overrated from the start. Maybe if he fought at 147 he would mean something.

Do you think Forrest can beat Mayweather?

How convienient of you to diminish Mayweather into a "small welterweight" when it doesn't fit your agenda. Come on man, we're talking about the best PFP fighter in the world if he were to come back today. That's not exactly a small accomplishment if Forrest can take care of him at 154 especially considering the majority of the board felt I was an idiot for believing that today's version of Forrest would win.

In fact, you called me a hater.

Besides, Forrest and Martinez are tied up and Sturm seems like he doesn't wanna have anything to do with anybody that can fight.

Pavlik is a work in progress, he's not an elite boxer like people in this site like to make him out to be, so he needs to perfect his game and especially against slick counterpunchers.

Mora fits this description, and what's better is that he doesn't havea punch which makes it a relatively safe fight for Pavlik to test himself and make him better against a fighter that can expose Pavlik's weakness which is against a slick counterpuncher.

So in summary, considering that there are limited options at middleweight and the considering the overall circumstances of Pavlik and what he's weak against, this is a good fight.

It just shouldn't be PPV. That's where it's bull****.

Exactly why he is fighting Sergio Mora, but people don't like it because he was schooled by an aging veteran who was a weight division lower than him. Mora should stay at Jr middleweight, I think he is probably lower top ten is that division which is a pretty solid division.

Whatever, I've been waiting to see Mora get knocked the F out since the Contender. So let this happen and then Pavlik can move on to Abraham or the Williams/Wright winner.

It isn't Pavlik/AA. That is it in a nutshell. Even if Kelly were facing Sturm you would get people arguing that shouldn't be happening because it isn't THE fight at MW. They have gotten into their collective thinking they know things they simply don't. Anyone claiming this fight is doable money wise, contrary to what Arum is saying, want to tell me what the ACTUAL NUMBERS are? You think HBO may be blowing their budget for the year on Pac/Hatton? Or at least for half a year? There may be no money for this fight until Fall.

HBO goaded Pavlik into the Bhop fight now they are writing him off. Nice going HBO.

And maybe Arum is doing some brilliant negotiating? Has AA chomping at the bit, or so they claim. I've posted this before but wtf.

    Kelly wins title.
    1. Taylor rematch. Mandatory.
    2. Lockett. Mandatory.
    3. Bhop cuz Cal turned down 10 million and ran scared and everyone else claiming they wanted a fight turned out to be not too serious in the end.
    4. Rubio. Mandatory.

So in his ONE, count it, ONE free fight, he took on Bhop cuz Cal wouldn't back up his mouth. So now in his FIRST voluntary, he gets this kind of ****?

how is HBO writing off Pavlik? They are choosing to no longer buy Pavlik's soft defenses. Pavlik-AA hasn't even gotten to HBO's table.

Pacquiao-Hatton has nothing to do with HBO's budget. The promoters are the ones on the hook for pay per view. If a fight on HBO PPV doesn't do well, the promoters suffer far more than HBO. HBO only puts up the guaranteed $ for BAD or WCB.

Which is still a bigger money fight than Pavlik/Abraham.
