Hire an experience trainer that will teach him headmovement and never to let him back up.

I am very sad. . .Miguel Cotto's recent comments in our PR papers point to him being on his way out of the sport. He wants to retire at age 30 and has been very emphatic about this. Miguel is very straight up and direct so I think he's dead serious. He says 2 more fights and i'm not really expecting a top-tier opponent for his proposed summer comeback fight. He also said he doesn't want to rematch Margo and he has shown no interest in a Mosely or Pac rematch. To make matters worse, he is insisting on keeping Santiago as the lead trainer.

Whatever "changes" Cotto plans to make will be inconsequential if he follows through on what he has been saying: 2 more fights (likely against lesser opposition) and retirement.

What makes me so ****ing mad is that he seems to be headed the same road Tito went: retiring when there is still so much to accomplish. Neither Tito nor Cotto showed any desire to avenge their losses and that's not the mark of a champion. Tito squandered his chance to be an ATG by pulling out of the game and failing to avenge any of his losses and Cotto seems to be headed in the same direction. Cotto has a chance to be the greatest PR fighter ever if he racks up several more big wins and possibly avenges one or both of his of his losses, but the guy doesn't seem to be too interested in doing any of this.

true but you can't blame cotto cuz he has fought the bestin his division. He never avoided anyone. I hope he does fight somebody good before he retires but if he doesn't then i wish him the best.

I think he's hit the same spot as Hatton. There's no where to go really except down. There's a gap to Pacquiao and possibly Mayweather (we'll see come March 13), and he's beaten or fought everyone else.

There's no reason to avenge the Margo loss otherwise you diminish his cheating, and Pacquiao won't be around for him when he's back at top form.

Tito is far ahead of Cotto in terms of accomplishments. If Cotto had beaten Pacquiao and went on to defeat Mayweather, the story would've been different...

Yea, that's why I said he had a chance to surpass him. . .at age 29 he could do it but I don't see the desire. With Santos recently brushed aside and Calderon being. . .well Calderon, that just leaves us here in PR with JuanMa, a guy I am not really that hyped up about.

Well, best of luck to Cotto in whatever he wishes to do with his life. I've met him personally and he's surprisingly pretty nice and outgoing. . .wish him all the best.

He realized that he is ready to go...and its simple as that. He doesn't have it any more...and he better goes then before he gets crashed again.

He was very stupid to take a trainer like that though...a guy with zero experience...can't believe that stupidity.

Miguel has 2 fights left and I think they will be farewell fights against lesser opponents. So there will be no more changes in Miguel's camp.

Too late to make any real changes. All he can do is get a new trainer and ditch some of the leeches. How many extras does a guy need to punch someone in the face?

  15. You know if Cotto's had never fought Margo/cement hands then his career might have went in a totally different direction. I feel sad too. H'es been great for the sport.
