    Yes but the title of the second one is "besides the money, this is the reason Clottey came to lose" so he is saying that Clottey did come prepared to lose and benefited with "money" and offers another reason. I'm not saying that it has never happened in boxing, i'm saying that alot of the bad things in boxing, such as drugs and fighters taking a dive, have been used to explain Pacquiao's recent success rather than just praising the man for his ability and everyone else he's fought has just been "shot".
    I'm not talking about the majority here as most people can see and appreciate Pac's success but i'm also not only talking about as few as one or two people either.

    Pac had a good workman like performance against a good but not great fighter. Clottey's only chance was to step outside his comfort zone and dare to be great...take risks. Put a stationary target in front of Pac and he will destroy it. Jmm and EM gave him movement along with jabs. It will be great to see how he handles either Mosley are Mayweather or hopefully both. We got some great fights to look forward too!

    Clottey (Top Rank) is about to get a title shot against the winner of Yuri Foreman (Top Rank) / Cotto (Top Rank)! After that performance, how do you land a title shot in a weight division you aren't even active in? Bob Arum is playing the boxing world for fools!

    If you read some of Clottey's pre fight quotes, it seemed like he was prepared to lose and simply didn't want to get knocked out. Look what Arum had to say about Clottey;

    “There was no way Clottey was going to beat this guy, even if he took off his gloves and fought him bare-fisted,”

    Here's what Roach had to say;

    "Let's face it, I'm frustrated that he [Clottey] didn't try to win the fight,"

    So while it's a stretch to say that Clottey was specifically paid to take a dive, it's not a stretch to say that he didn't come to win the fight but rather to just survive.

    I don't think he took a dive. I think he even showed in the fight that he could win. He just didn't do anything to win.

    We have all seen Clottey fight and he is NO JOKE. The dude came in honestly undefeated. All of a sudden the media is ramping up that he won't punch, never tries, blah, blah, etc... lubing the ears up for the shaft. The guess what? Clottey is true to "alleged" form. OK, he pulls a Kevin Johnson.

    i would have accepted the BS about him just not showing up, but now he is getting a title shot at 154?!? What? :huh

    The biggest complaint everyone had about Clottey is that he lacked killer instinct and a will to win. He showed it against Cotto, he showed it against Margarito, and on a bigger stage against a much better opponent it showed all the more clearly.
