Trust me, if 90% of pro’s have Canelo as a winner, no one here will go on and on about how Golovkin was the better man. You know, kind of like you, shadow, that twat who only posts negative **** and a few others have done for the past year. If you haven’t noticed, you are what fuels the thing you seem to hate the most about this forum.
Im looking forward to watching the rematch as a neutral and hope that whoever wins the loser's fanbase gives the winner the respect they deserve like rather than moaning and making excuses like.
I hope people will give Canelo his just due, but I doubt it will happen. GGG though he uses his head to block punches really didn't take alot of punishment from any dangerous opponents with a solid chance to win so I really don't see how it could be that he slipped alot while there was fighters in history that were older and still performing at a high level. It comes down to the only excuse acceptable and that would be "he just wasn't as good as people thought he was!"
Wouldn't say he has more skill. Maybe defensively. Speed is unquestionable for Canelo Timing is pretty even Age obviously Style?
Good post. Agreed. I understand being a fan of a certain fighter, but that doesn't mean you can't give dues where dues must be given.
GGG also started his career later than most pros. He doesn't have the wear and tear most fighters have by the time they reach their mid 30s. Sergio Martinez started late and ended late, and only due too bad knees. Bernard Hopkins also started late and was able to fight at a high level way past his mid thirties. Then you have other fighters like Mayweather who took very little punishment throughout their career and were able to maintain fighting atbthe highest level well into their thirties. I do think GGG has lost something psychologically, mainly from the Canelo fight. He had never been in the ring with that kind of fighter, never had gotten countered as much and as hard, and never had his internal organs rearranged. After Canelo lands the first combinations to the body he will start thinking about the 20 million dollars Canelo is paying him and how he will be spending it.
Canelo has proven to be able to be an aggressor, be a counter puncher, be able to use excellent defense in multiple ways incluing shoulder roll, parrying, using head and upper body movement and is great at blocking punches. Canelo is more accurate than GGG, therefore his timing is better. Canelo is a counter puncher at heart, counter puncher thrive against pressure fighters. So on paper Canelo does have the style advantage.
