Nah you were just a guy rooting for a fighter who got his ass kicked tonight.

That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the post.

I know how you feel. I get that way watching sports too. If my team or fighter is getting blasted and the announcers are just glowing over the guy(s) it pisses me off.

I'm like I know how well they are doing they are kicking the **** out of who I am rooting for, I don't need to hear you ****ing talk about it anymore.

Foreman was very biased towards anybody not black... LL was a little biased IMO, Roy Jones seems like an actual good guy. He praises guys like Sergio Martinez, and really anybody good. It was hard to praise the two guys that weren't black last night.

    You're such a democrat....

RJJ and Tarver are the very best of the fighter/commentators. I've never noticed them pulling for the black guy. But I'll give you that both tend to root for the boxer...They are both gracious as well. Watch a heavyweight fight that Lennox commentated. Watch a fight that Mancini commentated.
I've heard RJJ measuring himself against the fighters that he is calling but never as disgracefully as others.

It's amazing when you watch fights without the HBO commentary. Their obvious bias makes a huge difference in the public opinion regarding fights.

The one that really stands out to me was Alexander-Kotelnik, where Lederman had some ridiculous scorecard, giving DA the first 5 rounds when he clearly lost most of them.

I'm not sure I would blame RJJ alone - it's the whole network that takes cues from the producers about which fighters to promote.

I think Roy is very fair. He does tend to favor fighters with a strong faith in God if anything, but isnt bias based on race. I think RJJ is a good person and about as honest as an analyst can be.

Ha praised Calzaghe and slugged of Hopkins pretty bad when that circus was on. For political reasons, but still. I dont think Jones is biased due to race the way Hopkins or Merchant (sometimes) can be.

And I dont think it is a big deal that the OP brings the subject up. If a boxer or commentator is biased due to skin colour it should be okay to discuss.

You sound like a ****ing fool. Roy Jones is the best commentator in the game today. His vast boxing knowledge and astute analysis is without peer. How dare you question this man's credibility.:nono
