Pascal may be overrated, but he has the athleticism and heart to make up for his defensive deficiences. Dawson can be tagged too, unless he goes all out on the bike.

I think Dawson gets a bit overrated myself. Good fighter, but the standout victory for him is Adamek purely based on the Poles subsequent achievments (IMO :good)

Dawson's dominated everybody apart from the first fight with Glen Johnson. And Glen's still a very good pressure fighter as he showed against Mack who is not exactly a scrub.

Pascal isn't that good. He was outboxed by Froch. He wasn't outfought, he was outjabbed. He was actually in the fight when it was a brawl, but when Froch changed tactics Pascal had no answer. He'll be ****ed against Dawson's jab and ringsmarts.

I agree to a extent lads. I'm a fan of Bad Chad but i don't like to sleep on fighters and Pascal hasn't boxed anywhere near his own ability for a long time. Seems to like war mongering but i got feeling he will put up a fine brave effort but Chad taking it on points in a good fight.

Thats the way I see it. Frochs angled jab had Pascal looking completely one dimensional towards the end of their fight (and that was Froch, not Dawson) so I see Chad pulling away with it at the end.

But I don't feel Dawson is all that great, and that Pascal will make it hard for him. Put Dawson in the mix at the late 70's, and he'd dominate no one.

Hopkins was more impressive against Tarver IMO. Sadly, his years have caught up with him. Dawson of today vs. Hop that fought Tarver? I'd favour Hop to outmanouver Chad to a scrappy, dull decision.

Pascal's whole rep is based on losing to Froch. Okay thats not so bad if Froch uses his best attributes to outlast you, but that didn't happen. He got outboxed and out-thought. That's not a good look when you've got handspeed and natural athleticism. It means Pascal is not a very smart or adaptable fighter.

So he's beat Diaconu twice too. Good win but nothing amazing. Diaconu struggled with Chris Henry who is in the Yusuf Mack catergory. As a stylistic comparison a middle aged Glen Johnson is a lot more street wise, a lot slicker and overall more skilled than Diaconu as a pressure fighter. He also has better stamina even at that age.

I agree that the Diaconu wins get blown way out of proportion.

    -Short

    -One dimensional

-Had beaten no one of real note.

    -Still made the fights competitive

But Pascal is at least 'with it' and will come to fight; I'm looking forward to a step towards unifying the division too. Cloud has certain attributes that make a prospective fight with the winner tantalising too.

Although he suffered to Woods' jab at times, so I'd make Dawson the favourite there too. Ward will win the Super Six IMO; after that, he vs Dawson would be BIG BUSINESS.

Cloud looks quite good. His work-rate his impressive given he seems to have power too. He'd match up quite well with Pascal at this stage. If Dawson proves to be a level above as he should against Pascal.

Yeah, he's certainly entertaining. Let's hope the Johnson fight comes off, Glencoffe is still a decent opponent at his age, and will still force Cloud to come up with answers. If Cloud can get the stoppage (unlikely) then that will make quite the statement.
Two prolonged periods of inativity (post-Gonzalez leading up to Woods and post-Woods til now) won't have done him any favours though.

Thanks guys. Much appreciated. Some great potential and actual match ups that I hadn't considered. The coming months are much rosier than I thought. :good :happy

Had forgotten all about Pascal, and he's one of my favourite fighters. Looking foward to seeing how he copes with Bad Chad.

If there's no Brit involved, or anyone named Pacquiao or Mayweather, we probably won't get to watch the fights.
