    Depends what you consider boxing’s golden age. Some say the 20s, others the 70s, others the 90s.

    I think with the end of Toney we saw the last “great” boxer. James was a protege of Miller and a link to the immortals like Charles -The death of the professional was IMO the schedule of the modern era, it has been declining (very slowly) since about the 70s? But there are a few very bright embers between then and nowI sort of see Duran as the last great pro of a great era - a bridge to the bygone eras JCC Snr is more a reincarnation then a direct link I think, but similar.
