i'd hate to say it but probably if evander holyfield beats a genuine contender and not some old washed up bum or a journeymen and starts to look like a genuine contender for a belt i think holyfield vs klitschko would make huge money namely because many americans still love holyfield and he has the most recognizable name of the heavyweight division. however, there would have to be some serious steps taken to at least make holyfield appear to be a genuine contender.

Yes, if Holyfield beats someone who is legit, Vlad Vs. Holyfield would sell tickets, but it would be a mismatch in reality.

Vitali Vs. Maskaev would have sold a lot of tickets, if Peter were to beat Oleg, Vitali Vs. Peter would be a good ticket seller, Vitali by very brutal knockout!!!!!!!

well i guess also vitali vs wlad would be hugeeeeeeeee but i really dont see that ever happening also, if they do fight i dont think either of them would be going 100 percent seeing as they are brothers.

    vitali v LL

you know its pathetic when the best fight would be between to later thirty/forthy somethings comming out of retirement.

right now, if you were to make the match up without considering future fights to build hype the best fight would be Wlad v valuev for freak show appeal.....followed by wlad v brewster which thankfully is happening instead of this last fight.

i dont think anyone really wants to see valuev fight in america

and LL is never coming out of retirement although vitali vs LL part 2 would have been sick if lennox didnt dodge it and retire like a puss puss

maybe but fights that make money are fights that get the average fans attentions. boxing fans would watch this fight just because its Wlad the concensus champ v some opponent just as we watched the ray austin and calvin brock fights. but in addition to this you could hook a bunch of luke warm boxing fans or MMA fans that would by the hype. remember the tittle of the fight is what is the biggest money fight. and as far as the LL v Vitali i know it will never happen but its still funny when you consider that if it ever did it would be the biggest money fight.

As ****ing ridiculous as it is, you're right about the average fan thing.

The biggest fights in the HW divisioin would be:

Tyson v Holyfield III (especially if Holy picked up the WBO belt. Hell, even the WBU belt would do it.....)

    Lewis v Vitlay II

Any combination of Lewis, Tyson, Holy if you could get ANY organisation to sanction it.

Well try to think of truly intriguing between guys who have built of a good record and not lossed long enough to gain a following. There just isn't anyone. Wlad's been on a good run, but who out there has beaten enough quality guys to seem like a competor?

Part of it is a vicious cycle: nobody has a strong name and following, so who do you fight to build your own name and legacy. Unifying the belts to have a single recognized champ would help fix it.... some better/more exciting fighters would help, too.

If the Klit brothers fought, it would make tons of cash.
