What fighter (any era) returns to the ring and takes rules his Division

Trust me man, I'm not a ******* or anything, I just don't think he'd destroy the current crop of talent at WW. He'd handily beat most of them but he wouldn't embarrass them or anything. In fact, I see Mayweather winning a decision over Leonard 5-6 times out of ten. Pacquiao would also be VERY competitive. Hell, Berto would be mildly competitive with Leonard at WW.

 

I would say it's closer to 3 and a half years against Brock in november of 06. Wlad is a very good fighter, going against very weak oppostion. Wlad's chin and mental toughness is still weak, it just hasn't been really tested since Peter in 05. Tyson would do that and more to Wlad.

 

Pretty much any great lightweight would clean out that current division without much of a problem. It's a really weak division from a historical sense. Same is probably true for middleweight, although I can see Pavlik giving someone like Dick Tiger major problems.

I don't think there's a boxer in history I would favor to completely clean out the current welterweight division. If they were to fight Mayweather AND Pacquiao AND Mosley AND Berto AND Cotto, I think the law of averages means even someone like Leonard or Robinson would come out with a loss at some point. And that's not even including Williams, who would be a stylistic nightmare for a lot of great fighters (and much easier for certain other types of fighters who aren't necessarily as great).

If Mayweather beat Leonard once in ten fights, I'd be impressed. Just what has Floyd done at 147 to make you think he'd beat SRL 5 or 6 times out of 10? Leonard is all wrong for Floyd.

Pacquiao is great but let's not get too carried away. Beating Cotto and Clottey doesn't mean you can be competative with arguably the second-best welter ever.

As for Berto being even mildly competative? Jesus wept.

 

Have you seen leonard fight ? 5 10 , good power , great speed , defence , and the best movement ever . Floyd wouldnt want to know and little manny at 5 6 would get destroyed . Back when you had to be great to move up Floyd and Manny would have been very good , but wouldnt have gone any further than Lightweight , neither would be champions there as Duran would have been there , but they would have at least been competitive. A move to light welter would also be trouble as they would have to deal with Aaron pryor.

 

Are you serious? Pac could beat Duran/PBF could beat Hearns? Current crop? Mosley is 38, PBF has not fought anyone near the caliber of just say Duran, Benitez, Hearns, or even a Curry. Berto has fought who? Palimono and Cuevas would have him thinking about going down to 140.

Tyson would not dominate the big heavyweights now. That is not his fault, just that guys are too big for him. If there was a 220 weight limit he would beat everyone. Hearns would dominate 154 easily. Leonard would dominate 147. Whitaker would dominate 135 very easily. I even think Virgil Hill would dominate light heavyweight now.
