This was brought up in another thread. Who stops JMM in his prime? That would mean from Feather weight to 135. Actually 135 is really a little out of his prime but close enough to include.

The man has gotten this far because of his combination punching, ring IQ and incredible recuperative powers.

So go ahead. Give me some names in the history of those weight classes that would stop Juan Manuel Dinamita Marquez.

Arguello w/ a killer left hook like the one that decked Olivares.

Hmmm not really familiar with him as that is way before my time. He does look to have an impressive record.

    Ike Williams I mean.

But honestly, I dont see JMM getting stopped.

He's got HOF recuperative abilities. Many might have him licking the canvas, but he always gets up and he's always BETTER after getting knocked down.

Could see Hearns stopping him at 147 similar to how he stopped Duran at 154. Not sure about 126-140, though.

Possibly Duran, Chavez, Sanchez, Saddler, Nelson, Tendler, Morales, Williams, but in all honesty I don't see anyone knocking him out. Drop him or dominate him at most, but prime Jmm was a fighter of a high order himself, but I think Duran, Chavez, Williams, Sanchez, Nelson, Morales, Pacquiao, and Arguello in that order were most likely, but then gotta remember 126 was Jmm's prime putting him at135 thats out of his prime and into Durans, Chavez, and Williams. H2h tho 126 Jmm could hold his own against anyone as the Norwood and John fights were farces.

I dont know about that. It would be an epic war but Julio would eat alot of shots which I think would make him be weary and not get a stoppage. Honestly I do not even know if he would win.

It is crazy to think it would take one of the hardest hitting WWs to stop a career FW. That just tells you the skill level that man possess. Anytime I think about how his time is coming to an end I get a little upset. No one out there like him currently.

Well even against Whitaker, Chavez didn't get discouraged.

When he fought Taylor it showed he won't stop until the final bell.

How do you think a Marquez victory would look saul?

Arguello and 15 rounds might do the trick as well.

That accurate right hand bomb Alexis is gonna land can take out anyone at 126-135.

Marquez @ the smaller weights wasn't the "Banger" we see now.
He was very patient & calculated compared to his present day form.

Chavez would break him down & once Marquez showed any give would turn it up & stop him. No doubt about in my mind.
(Plus JMM don't have the punch to gain the Chavez respect)
    ^especialy at 130lbs
