What fighter was best at handling come forward pressure fighters

The question should be who is the best against pressure fighters besides foreman that he is the evident alpha dog here

 

In the heavyweights maybe but there are others who match him or maybe even surpass him in the eyes of some at the lower weights.

 

I think Sonny Liston would be damn hard to beat as a swarmer as well.

Dick Tiger, Roberto Duran, Whitaker, those sort of guys are in the mix. Not to mention Hank Armstrong, Harry Greb and 147lb SRR. What about Willie Pep? Benny Leonard? How lethal was 175lb Ezzard Charles? Sal Sanchez?

The list of great fighters vs pressure fighters is immense really. Digest the names above. At first glance some might seem out of place or peculiar. Armstrong a great swarmer himself, but if he's simply the best pressure fighter of all of them at his top weight we can't say he's not awesome against other pressure fighters can we? Same with Greb.

That's 10 imo high quality names per the thread title. Foreman is in there as well, no doubt about it. He would be the first heavyweight that would come to mind i think. I wouldn't exactly throw out pre exile Ali or Joe Louis either.

 

Eubank snr was very effective in his pre Watson days against pressure type fighters .rock solid chin and accurate punches with good defense.Not so good coming forward though.Marlon starling was another guy who took people apart as they attacked .very clever fighter and underrated.

 

I don't know what trolling means. I am saying things I believe in my heart. Duran was a bit overrated when fighting the best guys he fought. He lost to them all. If saying the facts which people do not like hearing is trolling then I am trolling. Benitez fought Duran with his back on the ropes in a lot of that fight in 1982 when Duran was 30 years old. The age Floyd was in 2007..

 

I believe what I say. Duran was not that old and at a weight he was at since 1978. Floyd was the age Duran was when he fought Hearns in 2009.. Believe it or not. and 2007 was the age Duran was for Floyd, when Duran fought Benitez. So the age excuse is not valid, and neither is the weight. Seems like Duran gets a lot of excuses. He always did.

 

I assume this is based primarily on the Joe Frazier title mauling in 1973?
