Felix Sturm Winky Wright In response to the people who will post Cory Spinks or Calderon or Byrd. ATLEAST THEY HAVE SKILL TO ADMIRE FROM A SLICK SOUTHPAW STANCE THAT SHOWS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF THE MIND AND DETERMINATION OVERCOMING POWER!! Sturm will never knock out an elite challenger or anybody decent. He has an earmuff defense and seldom takes chances. I'm not saying the guys not good. He's real good and real solid he has very good qualities and physical attributes. But the guy is just boring to me in the ring... Winky not as much because atleast he has more power and a better jab and takes more chances and punches more but THERES NO CHANCE HE KNOCKS ANYONE OUT!! sort of takes away excitement
I dont think Winky is boring, Sturm is a lil boring. your reason for Winky being boring is contradicting to you saying Calderon isnt boring, Calderon couldnt knock out a 10-year old Amir Khan
Sturm fight tonight = most un dramatic affair. I didn't even watch after the first round. I knew Sturm would win a UD
I don't know that that's really true, and not by much if it is. They're about level in both categories.
He has a better slick style. Winky is just boring... *right jab* get close *earmuffs* *jab to disrupt opponents rhythm *walk opponent down* *stay close* *hard right jab*. Does he have any other punches besides a jab and straight left?
John Ruiz-Holyfield is the only fight I've ever fallen asleep to...I also always get geared up for B-Hop fights but generally feel like it was boring after, though I can appreciate his skill, if that makes sense...
right. I meant you said since Winky couldnt knock ANYONE out, that it takes away some excitement level ... but Calderon cant knock anyone out either. Winky isnt terribly exciting, but hes very effective and you can at least appreciate that
He loses to anybody with footwork or lateral movement side to side movement as B-Hop showed. I loved seeing him expose Winkys boring style
How is that different from any other boxer with a strong following in their home nation? :huh It wasn't a bad fight, really - even though the Sturm win looked like a foregone conclusion by the halfway point. The only real drama was that it looked like he might finish Lorenzo off (but of course he didn't). Not every boxing match needs to end in a KO. I don't really see how you can put Spinks and Calderon in a different class of entertainment value from Sturm and Wright (I have no problem watching any of them). :?
Because they're good counterpunchers... Sturm and Wright don't counterpunch... they just cover up and then disrupt the opponent...
