Sometimes, I need a fix of boxing without the excitement. Certain fighters are relaxing to watch but not to the point where they become boring. For me, Carlos Monzon, Shakur Stevenson, and Erislandy Lara all do this kind of thing for me.

I always thought that old George Foreman was a relaxed, calm fighter but definitely not boring.

Bernard Hopkins was this way because of his mental energy. He was usually a step or two ahead of his opponent. It was interesting to see how he broke down his opponent.

I think there's something about fighters who are either very smooth, rhythmic and effortlessly skilled or very skilled and methodical but one paced and minimalist who have this sort of effect on viewers. Hence all the good names mentioned above.

Penalosa was one of the first I thought of. Skilled and metronomic but insular and minimalist, and with a very stoic, zen, monk-like expression on his face.

Guty Espadas on the front foot, a very pleasing, fluid slip and hook orientated style.

Hagler when in boxer mode, the way he would sort of rock, dip and switch stances along with his sliding, light, slightly bouncy footwork.
