I was thinking Rahman but for getting KTFO of the ring against Maskaev and that gruesome hematoma in the Holyfield fight.

Adrien Broner. He is more famous not because of his own accomplishment and personality but because of his association with Mayweather.

I guess I would say Oliver McCall?

The fact that most of the suggestions are heavyweights gives credence to the old adage that one punch can change everything at heavyweight, and that nothing is ever guaranteed.

I guess in some way Floyd and Manny will always be known for their fight that never happened

Leon Spinks' career didn't amount to much in the end but he will always be known for that win over Ali.

VERY few fans would have been familiar with Corrie Sanders if he hadn't blasted out Klitschko in 2.

Glen Johnson would have never been seen as much more than a journeyman if he hadn't KO'd Jones.

Just rattling some stuff off, feel free to join in

I would say Joe Frazier, very good fighter, but he is seen as a B-Side to Ali imo.

He beat Ali when he was undefeated, that's how I remember him.

Dont get me wrong it is abit harsh I know, but due to Ali's immense status he is overshadowed by that. If you were to ask the average Joe in the street who was Joe Fraizer, if they knew him at all it is likely because of his legendary fights with Ali. As you said, you remember him for beating Ali when he was undefeated...

    Great fighter, RIP Joe

I say Floyd and Manny are more famous because they never fought.

Margo was built up off of the name of Floyd

Vittles is more famous because of LL

the KBros are more famous because of each other

Douglas and Rahman were a great calls

Daisuke Naito the B side to Pongsaklek Wonjongkam in their 4 fight rivalry (Pong went 2-1-1).

Micky Ward the B side to the rivalry with Gatti, which triumphs Ward's popularity of everything before that combined.

Ross Purrity, Corrie Sanders, Lamon Brewster off of stoppage wins over Wladimir.

Sonny Liston is a legend based on four fights in a row with two opponents: W KO1 Patterson, W KO1 Patterson II, L RTD6 Clay, L KO1 Clay II. He really only has a few quality wins of note beyond those.

Most people don't know **** about Max Schmeling beyond his fights with Joe Louis.

Jake LaMotta: "Raging Bull" and Sugar Ray Robinson fights combined make up probably 90% of talk regarding LaMotta.

Pryor's seemingly whole career and continued relevance is based on epics with the great Arguello, rightfully so or not.

Riddick Bowe's relevance is through Evander in the same way Pryor's is through Arguello. They were great. But they wouldn't be discussed without person A...

Gene Tunney: dethroning Jack Dempsey and long count fight in rematch, which is sort of a shame.

Sonny Liston ask any casual fan they won't be able to tell you anything about what he did except that's the guy Ali won is first title against. Also Ward is really only know for his fights with Gatti if he hadn't had them nobody would no him
