kelly came up the right way. knocked out everyone put in front of him en route to the championship. knocked out the guy who beat hopkins twice then beat him again. he should get more credit for how he came up considering how little many people regard him on here.

however, based on what he's done since, this argument, while i disagree with it, still is valid to bring up. i wish i could disagree with even bringing it up. but i can't. miranda and taylor have both been destroyed by subsequent opponents as was zuniga and mckart was not peak when he fought kelly (although kelly was the first to stop him).

but he can still change this if he gets his mind right and gets back to form.

Prescott just got too much attention after Koing Khan...wich was the result of a lucky punch against a glassy chin. After that he hasnt show any greatness.
Oleg Maskhaev looked like he will clean the HW division after sending Rachman to the computer desks... a few months later he was himself tanggle up with the computers after getting hit by Johnson.
Yanki Diaz was seen as a challenge after defeating the huge favorite and undefeated fellow cuban JC Gomez. Then Sam Peter came along.

this is interesting. i'm not sure arthur even beat hype jobs. as a pavlik fan, i understand the perception it creates when discussing common opponents and when someone fought them. but i don't think the versions of taylor and miranda that abraham ko'd were hype jobs so much as just not the same.

miranda was brutalized by kelly and left in the ropes and jermain was coming off two very bad knockout losses. you could argue that the first miranda fight was a win over a hype job. but the subsequent win, it could be argued, was against a shell of the guy he fought a war with previously. same thing with the taylor win.

thing is, he's about to fight froch who is not a hype job. so if arthur ko's him, which i think he will, could erase this.

arthur is not a bum just b/c he got his ears boxed off by dirrell. dirrell is the truth and abraham also has a chance to redeem himself. i think he can do it.

I disagree on Alexander, Valero and Khan. All these fighter are young with less than 30 fights each. We still need to see them tested versus their elite peers. I am not saying they are not hype jobs but it is too early to tell either way.

Victor Ortiz and PWill? Those guys are borderline. Very close.

I notice all of the hype jobs are non-blacks! What about berto? alexander? or even bradley?? Edwin Valero would of beat the living sh** out of both of your heroes! (alexander and bradley)! In the words of floyd mayweather, he would of tapped them both on the same night! :good

1.) Zab Judah- fast hands can only take you so far... he got credit for beating an old Micky Ward and then Cory Spinks. Judah still gets big fights just based on the fact he has extreme athleticism, but everyone who has watched him knows if he doesn't KO his opponent in the first 5 rounds then he will break down and lose. He is vastly hyped to be something more than he is. I mean the guy lost to Baldomir (a walking punching bag).

2.) Yuri Gamboa- All this hype and to this point the guy has proven nothing. He hasn't beaten anybody of note and he routinely hits the canvas against opponents with vastly less talent then him. Granted, Gamboa has amazing hand speed and power, but how far will that take you if your defense and chin are questionable? Look at the person above.
