    Their management kept them away from certain opponents.

    Team Gatti was pretty careful with him post-DLH up until the Mayweather fight. They kept him away from guys like Tszyu and Mitchell. I think Gatti was even the top contender for the IBF title, which Tszyu had, but his team had him go for the softer touch instead, fighting Branco for the vacant WBC crown.

    Duran himself didn't duck opponents, but Carlos Eleta kept Duran away from certain matchups. Duran's team had him fake an illness when he was about to fight an old Carlos Ortiz in MSG, for some odd reason, as Duran most likely would've beat him badly. Eleta also rejected a bout against 140 lb. champ Antonio Cervantes when Duran was ruling 135. Ken Buchanan never got a rematch.

    Actually but dela hoya ducked Wright and possibly Margarito...but fair enough more often than not he steped up when it mattered
