i totally get it. the only thing i can appreciate about his style is that he is the mater spoiler - no one can spoil another fighter's game like Bhop can. makes for a boring match to watch, but still, it's an undeniable skill.
I don't think you guys have seen Hopkins fight before 2003. Check him out in the Trinidad fight, or Echols II, or Lipsey, or Glen Johnson, or most fights from 97-03. He was far more aggressive and exciting then, and just as effective.
Nobody. Everybody I can think of has some kind of quality I like watching. There isn't a fighter I'd turn down the chance to watch if I was sitting down infront of the TV and I had the choice between the boxing and something else.
The one thing I can't stand watching is excessive clinching, so any proponent of that. Ruiz comes immediately to mind - Hatton, Wlad and latter-day Hopkins have a lot of fights I find borderline un-watchable.
froch - got what ever publicity from calling out calzaghe after any fight joe or himself had , he built his career by calling a fighter out, think he is vastly overrated and an akward style to watch!, Cotto- Didnt do anything to get the mayweather fight, evreybody was calling for it but cotto didnt call him out, dont feel he is as great as evreybody thinks hmm mainly just dont really appreciate him at all they are just 2 fighters i dont like, i know many people like them but just not my type
I try to appreciate all fighters who are tough enough to go 12 rounds...but I have a real hard time watching guys who are obviously there for a payday and not there to compete. It's difficult to enjoy a fight like that.
Sung-Kil Moon is just hard for me to watch. I'm somewhat similar to TFFP in this regard, as I can usually always find some way to recognize and appreciate a fighter's effectiveness, even if it wasn't so aesthetically pleasing. Moon is difficult though. He was technically unsound, his footwork was completely eratic, his balance at times embarassing, but he always seemed to come back with that next punch, and not many were capable of dealing with it.
