If I remember correctly, grandpa liked Roberto Duran. A true throwback fighter who although he could fight very mean and dirty at times, was a true warrior who feared no man and would not hesitate to meet any challenge head on.
Given the type of guy my grandfather was, a no nonsense guy, I was baffled by the fact that he liked guys like Roy Jones and Pernell Whitaker. He used to loathe Prince Naseem Hamed but he never missed any of his fights. I always found that to be funny.
My dad's is Randy Turpin. Everytime we talk boxing it always leads to the first Robinson fight, and how he cut him to bits in the second fight before being stopped in the tenth. The first was on ESPN Classic a while back.
