That's a good answer, and makes me feel guilty for letting an earlier thread influence my answer here. I'm a bad person, and I don't truly hate any fighters either.
Hey IB, I would agree on Brigg's style being that the last few years but the guy looked a different fighter in 1998. He no doubt had quite some decent speed against Lewis before Lewis bombed him out in round 5. What do you think of his style in the late 1990's?
Hate fighters that show poor character in the ring, like complain a lot or exaggerate an injury. I understand pointing out an infringement to a ref that isn't taking notice, but some fighters take it too far. Get on with it, boys. Also dirty fighters. I don't hate him but I wish Bhop would just **** off already.
I don't hate any professional boxer. I'm a fan of the sport and like a good match. What they do outside the ring has no relevance to me. I am realistic enough to not expect guys who fight for a living to be role models.... I don't even hate guys that "quit," whatever..... Everybody has faults and I won't trash any man who goes in the ring for a living. Win or lose, they deserve respect to me. Disclaimer - Cheats who remove padding from gloves and do things similar that can kill a fighter in the ring is where I draw the line. That goes beyond "hating a fighter" as those kinds of actions are criminal in my opinion.
Briggs' corner and the referee and the ring doctor should have all been arrested for complicity in an attempted homicide by not tossing in the towel in the K - Briggs fight, and Vitali was gyped out of another KO on his record. If Briggs' skull wasn't 3" thick he would have been dead. But why do you hate him?
