Kessler gets a lot of praise, is well respected. Do you mean in terms of the mainstream (for instance, no one I know would have heard his name outside of explicit boxing fans)?

Darchinyan, only a few rate him as a P4P-er after badly beating one (Margarito is up there by doing the same). Of course many would agree this cocky kid doesn't deserve the fame.

Chris John. World FW champion, had a very good win in Japan a few months ago, now makes a trip to the US to fight Rocky Juarez.

    Nate Campbell. 3-organization LW champion.

Joshua Clottey. What a great fighter.

Hozumi Hasegawa. Very good BW from Japan.

Roman Gonzalez. Young, exciting, very powerful SW champion.

But I could name a dozen more little guys who'd deserve all the fame and money.

    bull****:-(

lopez is overrated howcome he never fought carbajal, gonzalez, or arce ?
thats the reason why he doesnt get the credit he deserves cause he didnt earn it in the first place

btw if alvarez was able to outbox and drop him imagine wat calderon would do to him

Gotta love that guy. The prime version who fought Romero, not the Featherweight. Legend.

It comes with being a fighter in the lower weights. It's a shame.

The reason he hasnt fight no one its because nobody want to fight him. both Ulises Solis and Edgar Sosa have been dodging him for a very long time.

Shielded early on? He was shielded until he was in his mid 30's for ****s sake. He is the very opposite of what is required in this thread in that he has more recognition that he actually deserves, the man is a ****.

Mike McCallum gets my vote, by the way. Great fighter.

Get the **** outta here. Calderon would get his Puerto Rican ass beat down by Solis or Roman Gonzalez.

alvarez was a beast in his prime and probably would of walked through ivan's punches. the alvarez arce beat in 2006 was a past his prime version and not the one lopez beat in 1998.that's 8yrs apart. El Buffalo was undefeated when he fought Lopez too. so far ivan hasn't fought anyone of alvarez's caliber to be compared to finito yet
