People rag on Jones for failing a drug test post-fight, but did drugs set up the high kick? Did drugs negate Daniel's skills for the majority of the fight? As for Fedor, he's been caught during his prime and out of his prime all the same, against low tier competition BTW (something Fedor has chosen to pad his reign heavily with).

I think you're overestimating the strength of a heavyweight. The difference from light-heavyweight to heavyweight is the largest, but the gap isn't a true deciding factor on who won win a fight up there. Jones would be just as strong if not more.

I do sense a lot of heavy bias against JBJ on the MMA Forum and it is almost comical how much he is being underrated. I'm not even a fan of him and I still find loads of statements in this thread completely ridiculous. I respect that this is completely your opinion, but JBJ is not that bad, not now and not in his prime 20s.

The list is large really, Including heavyweights and lightheavy weights. People forget that mixed martial artists in the past fought with minimal rules and fewer weight classes. The heavyweights in the past, especially in Pride FC fought people larger than they were, many times there were mixed fights between smaller fighters and heavyweights. Fedor and Mirko Cro Cop fought people that outweighed them by 50-100 pounds, something Jon Jones wouldnt have success with.

Igor Vovchanchyn was a pioneer of the earlier MMA world, fighting people 2-3 times larger than he was and with minimal rules. Jones wouldnt even be successful without the deck stacked in his favor ( he is allowed to eye poke and take drugs while others arent.) Jones got exposed, and has been seen as vulnerable when he had to deal with people 1) Not washed up and old, 2) People as big as him.

I’d favor these guys against Jones. Obviously in their primes.

Josh Barnett, Mark Coleman, Randy Couture, Igor Vovchanchyn, Mark Kerr, Cro Cop, Fedor, Rampage Jackson, Wanderlei Silva, Alistair Overeem, Chuck Liddell, Henderson, Werdum, Stipe Miocic, Cormier (at heavyweight), Vitor Belfort. Theres a few more, I dont have time, I need to work the pole.
