I thought Razor Ruddock would do a lot more than he did. Thought he'd be one of the dominant HWs of the 90's.

Also thought Hamed would amount to more. Was mesmerized by his speed, power and ability.

I think the key word there is "if". Your post is based on speculation, the fact is today, at age 46, hopkins is the premiere lhw. In 05i thought he was past it and declining in the rematch loss to taylor, never expected this off him.

I wasn't that high on Oba Carr because I specifically remember him getting a gift decision against an elderly Livingstone Bramble in one of those USAN buildup fights.

Carl Froch. I don't think I've ever picked him to win a fight at world level. I really can't understand how he does it. I should be convinced that Ward will school him. But the ******* has cast doubts in my mind.

    He's still dog **** though.

I thought Jorge Paez Jr had all the stuff to be the next big thing, and the same with Auggie Sanchez :( I also thought that one day Rocky Juarez would actually win a title just by the number of times he came so close.

I have to say, I thought Pac (who I love fiercely) was going to be short burning or a fluke when he had that pretty bad first fight against Marquez and then lost to Morales, but he turned into something astonishing.

Yeah there used to be so many people on ESB with PW's pic on their profile when I joined back in 2009. All of them have disappeared.:think

I hear you. I will say that at 140 he looked really impressive, fast hands and really good power, albeit against B-level guys like Harold ******, Joe Hutchinson, and Rocky Martinez. Definitely talented.

Great fight, Bramble dropped him twice in the first round and Carr almost had Bramble out in a classic fifth. Bramble deserved the decision but had to know he wouldn't get it in Detroit.

I picked against Pacquiao in Barrera 1, Morales 2, DLH, and Cotto.

I thought Panchito Bojado would be a real good pro, and expected more out of Judah.

I bought the Judah hype. Watch the guys first 15 pro fights, and his fight with Ward, who at the time was proving to be one of the better rugged gatekeepers in boxing. He looked like a future great. The Tszyu fight didn't completely break my bubble, as he was still a young fighter with much less experience, and I thought it feasible he just got caught(Had a good first round), but his following performance against Omar Weiss put real doubts in my mind.

Followed with his less than great showing against Corley, his pissing away the Spinks decision, and his barely scraping by a badly faded Pineda, and I knew he didn't have the destiny I envisioned for him. I never did drink the kool-aid again, not after his winning of the Spinks rematch, nor his recent resurrection at 140 again. He's just further proved what those 5 fights of his first steps up showed me.

I was wrong the other way about Arturo Gatti. I thought he was a wooden banger, who did little but wing around huge bombs and get hit in the face. Yet, he continued to win world titles and beat pretty good fighters. Beat Ruelas, Patterson, and Dorin when I thought he'd be killed in all of the above, and his come from behind wins showed he had enough beating in his ribcage to be the beltholder and star I never thought he'd be. God bless him.

Freddie Norwood had the look of being a long reigning featherweight champion when he was coming up, and for a while I was convinced that he might just be able to dominate the division for a long, long time.

Wasn't that sold on either Salvador Sanchez or Eusebio Pedroza when I first saw them, and didn't peg either of them to become featherweight greats.

Probably Greg Page and Donald Curry, one because of indifference, another in part because of weight problems.
