With the Mosleys, Mayweathers, getting a little older, and other fighters like Pacquiao enertaining other ambitions (Politics)...It got me to thinking.

WHO WILL BE THE FACE OF BOXING WITHIN EACH DIVISION IN 5-7 YEARS FROM NOW.

There are a TON of really Talented fighters between the ages of 19-25, fighting in weight divisions from 122lbs thru 160lbs.

So when the DUST SETTLES, What fighters will be the FACE / KING OF THEIR RESPECTIVE DIVISION IN 5-7 YEARS?

    Super Bantamweight 122lbs
The name everyone keeps talking about as being the Future star of the Division is Marvin Sonsona.

Good Fighter...But the Kid that stands out in my mind is a kid who hasn't turned Pro yet...But is as SKILLFUL as they come:

Remember this Name: RAU'SHEE WARREN OF CINCINNATI, OHIO.

    Featherweight 126lbs
There is ONE NAME that will Dominate this Division for a Long Time:
    Yuriorkis Gamboa

    Super Featherweight 130lbs.
Eloy Perez from California has what it take to be King of this division in 5 years...NO DOUBT ABOUT IT.

    LightWeight 135lbs
This was easy...If you haven't seen 20 Year Old Hylon Williams from Houtson, Texas...You're missing the NEXT GREAT FIGHTER!!!!

    Jr. Weterweight 140lbs
With Timothy Bradley being only 26 yrs old...I see no reason nor have I seen any other fighter that has what it takes to "Knock him off" as King of 140lbs!!!

It will be great to see guys like Khan, Maidana, Ortiz, Urango, Alexander fight Bradley...But I see Bradley totally Cleaning out this Division and Being THE FACE / KING OF 140LBS.

    Welterweight 147lbs
IMO...Its THREE YOUNG FIGHTERS that stand out at the Future of this division that could be the Face / King of 147lbs in 5-7 Years.

22 year old Antwone Smith of Miami

25 year old Mike Jones of Philadelphia

And 19 year old Saul Alverez of Mexico

    Jr. Middleweight 154lbs
Two names stand out as of now that could definitely be Kings of 154lbs. And Already I am foaming at the mouth for a possible Match-up between these two fighters.

22 yr old fighters Shawn Porter of Cleveland, Ohio and Omar Henry of Houston, Texas (by way of Humboldt Park, Chicago).

23 yr old Danny Jacobs has more talent than any other Young fighter at 160lbs.

Another fighter that also has the capability to Claim King of 160lbs in 5-7 years.

23 yr old Fernando Guererro of Maryland (by way of Dominican Republic)

Well thats my list...of course all this depends of these fighters staying within these divisions. Now there are probably a ton of solid young fighters that I did not mention. And of course we all have different opinions on what fighters we like.

But the fact of the matter is that...THESE YOUNG FIGHTERS WILL BE THE FACE OF BOXING!!!!

Boxing is in Very Good Hands!!!!

Please feel free to send me your list.

Majority of these guys are from the US.

May want to travel further from the US shores as I don't think the landscape will be as American as you predict.

With so many champs from all over the world you have to think that more diverse talent is set to immerge.

Good list cause I never really thought about it but I would have to add Andre Berto to 147 because he's only 26 and feel in 5 years he will still be pretty damn good and 154 you have to atleast put Demetrius Andrade in the Mix

:good With so many boxers it's hard to keep up with all of the potential stars in each division but I do agree that stars will come from outside of US too.

decent list, but the guy in my avatar's going to be ruling super bantamweight if he decides to stay there and i don't really put much stock in antoine smith. i like mike jones a lot, though.

i like lara over porter or henry.

This was one of the Main reason why the creators of ESB put together this amazing website...to give us this wonderful opportunity to share thoughts and opinions about Boxing.

And I ended my Thread with "feel free to send my your list"...But instead what you choose to do...is send an Insult...instead of uses this as an opportunity to enlighten me about the long list of Top Young fighters "Internationally".

    WOW...So Sad:-(

i think so. he'll only be 34 in 5 years (36 in 7). i definitely don't see him taking much damage over the course of his career either.

Seven years is a very long time in boxing. For example, Arthur Abraham made his professional debut less than seven years ago, and Kelly Pavlik had not yet fought Cesar Avila! Pacman wasn't a featherweight yet, and Raul Marquez fought shane Mosely in February of 2003. Seven years is way to far out to try and speculate.

Yeah, I agree. It is rather difficult to label someone a Star in the Sport of Boxing or who will be the Stud of each division in 5-7 years.

I just thought this would give everyone a chance enlighten fans about young talent from all over the globe and to kinda' take a break from All the MAYWEATHER HATING THREADS.

Oh Well...There I go using Logic and Common Sense again.

Big Bone did a nice thread awhile back on the future of 160. The depth of his knowledge was very impressive and it was a great thread. I might even try to dig it out and bump it. All the guys he listed are currently somewhere near the make or break point. I enjoy speculating on the next 2 to 3 years. However, seven years is just to far out. Seven years ago Bronco McKart/Winky Wright finished up their trilogy, and no one gave a **** about Paul Williams. I'm not going to hijack your thread with some pissing match. Just my opinion.
