I don't think Steward would even attempt to change a Fighters style that has accomplished so much already. I think Steward will change his TECHNIQUE and make sure that Cotto uses his jab for more that 2 rounds of a fight.

For all the **** he gets, it really seems like Dawson and Guzman both regressed after leaving Floyd Sr.

Anyway, Shane Mosley and Zab Judah are both good calls. I'd also be interested to see what would have happened to Jermain Taylor if he had gone with someone better suited to his strengths than Manny Steward after the Hopkins fights.

I always thought Dawson took rounds off, even against subpar fighters. Guzman just got lazy....IMO!!!

Taylor, Cintron, Lewis and Klitschko, off the top of my head. Arguably Moorer as well. Two of them were well suited for the style change, but Taylor certainly wasn't. He's great at teaching tall fighters, but when was the last time he had success with a fighter who didn't usually have a reach advantage over his opponents?

It seemed like both were making significant progress with counterpunching ability, and then abandoned it when they left him. Both defensive fighters who are usually hesitant to throw when the other guy is punching and can combination punch when the other guy isn't.

I mean, I get why guys leave him (he doesn't exactly have the best personality in the world), but guys seem to make visible progress when they work with him. Hell, even Hatton looked the best he had in years against Malignaggi, until he decided that walking into Pacquiao's fist was a good idea.

he didn't try changing taylors style at all, all he did was tried to get taylor to tighten up, like when he does that bow and arrow jab-cross and the way he keeps his chin out infront of his front foot.

He also had him "fighting tall", trying to use the jab more, trying to rely on pure reflexes less. Look at the difference in his stance before and after Steward.
