Stop dreaming, hatton can never generate 1 million PPV in the US of A.

The days of 1 million PPV are over with the lost of dela hoya. It may not happen again in the next 30 years LOL.

they advertised oscar a lot because he owned the company the promoted the fight. in the ad world, you'd be wise to only spend only if you know there will be much in return. in boxing, spending a lot for fights usually is done only to push already big fights over the top, like pac-dlh.

taylor does not have an opponent that will intrigue the public, his personality is forgettable, and frankly, i dont think you can sell a million ppvs even without getting a lot of help from casual fans and i think not many casual boxing fans even know who taylor is.

you need a big names and big match for a million ppvs, pac-dlh, tyson-holyfield, pbf-dlh, trinidad-dlh. taylor versus anyone will not sell a million ppvs

they need to add extra big names to each event to sell more.
not just one main event and the rest bum fights.
and to be clever with it to get a wide audience.
eg abraham v pavlik and haye v klitsckho on the same event would attract continental europeans and brits and americans all to buy this ppv. making big $$$$$$.

    In the US

    Manny vs Hatton
    Manny vs Mayweather
    Manny vs JMM
    JMM vs Mayweather

Only these four fights could do a million in the US

    In the UK

    Froch vs Calzaghe
    Haye vs Vitali
    Haye vs Wlad
    Hatton vs Manny
    Hatton vs JMM
    Hatton vs Cotto
    Hatton vs Mosley
    Hatton vs Witter

Very dubious about all the US picks. Pacquiao v Hatton won't do a million in the US. Mayweather v Hatton didn't do a million in a much better ecaonomical climate and Pac isn't a bigger sell than Mayweather, is he? Their other common opponent was DLH and Mayweather v DLH sold nearly twice as many PPVs as Pac vs DLH.

Mayweather v Pac or JMM, probably not, for the same kind of reasons. Pac vs JMM has already been done, from memory 450k PPVs. Have the broadened their appeal sufficiently since then to more than double that, again in a worse economic climate.

On the UK ones, none of Froch, Calzaghe or Haye has ever been on a PPV card in the UK, so very much shooting in the dark on those. Ricky Hatton is the only fighter to have ever sold a million PPVs in the UK, so probably not in their cases. Hatton against Pacquiao can sell a million, more of a struggle against those others, would depend on the marketing, etc. More likely if they were on at UK primetime rather than 4am...

    Cobbler is right.

You really wouldn't be seeing 1 million PPV buys from the other Brits. Hell you would do well to get 200k. And I doubt we would for Hatton outside Mayweather/Pacquiao. He might need a bit of luck to even get there with Pacquiao IMO.
