your only running when you are constantly moving and not trying to land a punch..ie Casamayor in his last fight..casamayor kept moving and holding without throwing a punch

So you consider what Floyd did against Corrales is not running, he did run and tried to land flashy left hooks that caught Chico with. He always was on the stick n move strategy against Sosa, Castillo and Genaro Hernandez - that's the way he fights, he knows if he stays standing still, he can be out-muscled by many guys out there, the hand injuries are just excuses... Actually, leaning back against the ropes, rolling his shoulders, moving along the ropes and circling are many other strategies he uses to avoid the physical confrontation. I just saw him coming on and pressing up Burton and Corley and out-punching Gatti from long/medium range.

i dont know too many people if had the talent he has would stand and go toe to toe when its obvious who is the bigger man....don't discredit the man for being smart in the ring.

Once again it is not running..if he stands there against guys who dont have as great of footwork as he does he will make the fight easier for his opponent!..In all those fights floyd moved and pot shot...HE ACTUALLY WAS LANDING PUNCHES

So what exactly do you consider not running? It seems to me like in your opinion for a fighter to not be considered a runner he has to be right in front of his opponent without excersiing any movement or defense.

Ironically, until recently at the higher weights, he actually consistently stopped his opponents too. Which was remarkable for someone thought to be running away from opponents. Part of it is probably perception. Although Mayweather usually takes the ascendency in his fights, he typically does so from a counter-attacking position. So that can appear as if he is the negative party in the encounter. But inevitably he is the one that lands the more telling blows in the fight.

He didnt land hardly **** in the Oscar fight. All he hit was gloves, while running away.

Oscar repeatedly walked him down, while throwing punches.

Mayweather isn't really a runner, but he creates a buffer with his front shoulder and foot that can give the distinct impression of avoiding contact. "Runner" is the wrong noun, but people aren't going to listen to all his s*it talking and never call him on it.

Hatton is no Baldomir in terms of chin or size. If Floyd really wanted to back up his mouth, he'd think hard about actually trying to get Hatton out of there. I think we'll see a little less PBF bashing if he actually tries to press the action some on Dec. 8.

    I can hope right?

Mayweather was running around, throwing one punch at a time. Hitting nothing but gloves.

    WOW!!! G.O.A.T.!
