Edgar is No.3 behind Gomi & Penn, IMHO.

    Aldo vs Florian.

Kenny is a longtime contender who relies a bit too much on his grappling skills and here it again shows as Aldo dominated behind superior strikes and movement during 2 of the rounds, the other 3 were pretty close but Aldo takes home the W.

I love the style clash. Maynard come sout swinging, gives a great post fight interview after the third.

I think Melendez and Aoki are both better than Gomi tbh.

    I don't.

Aoki was a beast. Him vs Penn, even under pure grappling rules, would have been epic.

    Cruz vs Faber 2

Faber beat Cruz back when he was the king of WEC and arguably P4P one of the best around.

But a lot has happened since then and Cruz is now the BW king beating everyone he's faced bar Urijah.

Faber puts up a real good fight here and shows he's not finished at the top level.

But ultimately Cruz is too quick and too slick as he gains revenge on the only man to ever beat him.

Cruz cements himself the best BW in history and one of the best ever MMA fighters.

As of 2011 I have it

    Penn
    Edgar
    Melendez
    Aoki
    Gomi

I don't really like having Gomi so low but I think the guys above him have a superior resume and were proven at a higher level.

Aoki vs Penn would be a grapplers dream.

    Cruz vs Johnson.

Cruz wins here behind rangier striker and stronger grappling.

MM shows great heart constantly coming forward trying to force the action but ultimately the bigger man wins.

    Faber vs Bowles

Faber proves he isn't done as he punished and beat down Bowles seeking out the rubber match against Cruz establishing himself the number 1 contender.

    Aoki vs Beerbhom

Seeing Shinya so successful makes me wonder how Royce would do against those who came after him.

Shinya gets the takedown, takes his back and gets a body triangle which he combines with a neck crank.

Aoki gives no ****s, he is there to cause pain and as a grappler I love watching his fights.

    Melendez vs Kawajiri.

Gilbert is a beast, am absolute beast.

He smashes Kawajiri with a brutal g&p for the W.

    Diaz vs Daley

Diaz comes out on top in this absolute war as he forces a stoppage right at the death.

The strike force HW grand prix sees favourite Overeem defect to the UFC leaving Cormier in as a reserve.

Silva is coming off a career best beat down of Fedor, Cormier is a big underdog.

Daniel's spends the first 30 seconds weighing Big Foot up and he lands a big counter a minute in which drops Silva. He chooses not to go to the ground as he has a big advantage in timing, speed and movement seemingly able to hit Silva at will avoiding everything coming back at him.

4 minutes in a huge uppercut lands and Cormier gets the ko. The future LHW goat announces himself in style.

    Jacare vs Rockhold.

Luke demonstrates great TDD preventing Jacare from utilising his great ground skills.

Jacare was tipped to be a great MW but Rockhold shut him down.
