I think the sleeper fights of the year are:
the Big O v. Sam Peter
the white wolf v. niko Valuev
Chad Dawson v. the road warrior

These fights seem to be flying under the radar and are very good style matchups

    I know, I know...

But the light middleweight division needs some big fights. This would offer the unification of two title belts between two good fighters. It would probably lack excitement, but it would be interesting to see how both fought eachother and what adjustments they would make during the fight. It would be a step in the right direction for the division as a whole.

    Agreed

Who would you favor? And I was curious what separates Dawson from the supernatural elite?

I think Kessler will spark him, personally, and Dawson is one of my current favourite's, I like him more than Kessler.

Dawson is not a Supernatural, he's a definite P4P elite fighter, but he's also vulnerable in ways that true Supernatural's are not as he has flaws. Also, Dawson is very quick, but he's not a blaze by any means like some of these guys can fire off and then it really just comes down to the fact that the guy is excellent in most area's, just not phenominal in anything.

You know how you say a guy's 'good at everything but not great at anything', let's step it up a notch, Dawson's 'excellent at everything, not Supernatural at anything'.:yep

If these 4 fights are made next year, I will be VERY happy with boxing in 2008:

    Povetkin-Klitschko
    Cotto-Mayweather
    Guzman-Pacquiao/Marquez
    Dawson-Calzaghe

I can't wait for Vasquez-Marquez 3.. I almost forgot that it's already set for March. Next year could turn out to be even better than this one was if the right fights are made. There is also a possibility of some true superfights, unlike Floyd-Oscar/Hatton.
