In the last 10-15 years, maybe longer, I can't remenber too many fights being better than tonights Marquez-Vazquez fight. corrale-castillo comes to mind, but that about it. Can anybody think of of any other fights where the action was as intense and simultaneously fought at such a high skill level?

Corrales and Castillo were exciting fighters, but neither had the offensive repertoires displayed in these fights.

I agree, but it was still contested at a very high level with every round being better than the last. I got another one and it is one of my all time favorites. It wasn't as good as tonight, but Robert Quiroga-Kid Akeem was an excellent fight fought at a high level.

Best fights of the last 15 years

    1. Castillo vs Corrales I
    2. Barrera vs Morales I
    3. Vazquez vs Marquez III

I think there have been only 2 and I think this one is very close to those 2.

Out of the past 10 years, I think this fight was the best (Castillo/Corrales 1, Barrera/Morales 1, and Gatti/Ward were great as well). It was an honor to be able to see them go at it.

Gatti/Ward is close, as is tonight Marquez-Vazquez fight. Corrales-Castillo as well rank in the top three.

there was like 3 rounds in tonights fight that made me reminisce about that 10th round

I wouldn't argue a call for Corrales-Castillo as best modern fight, but the Vazquez-Marquez trilogy easily surpasses the Ward-Gatti trilogy in my opinion. Vaz-Marquez fights were all great, but got progressivly better. Ward-Gatti 1 was a great fight, but the next two were progressivly more dull. Not that they weren't great fights, I just don't see them as being on the same level.
