Margarito would've done nothing for his legacy, same people would be saying 'he beat a tailor made plodder instead of X', 74% on a recent poll here said Mayweather wins, tells you how much of a credible threat he's seen as.

Was PBF a career WW? I could have sworn PBF started his career at 130.:deal

I said "great" not "full fledged". I don't consider Pac a "great" welterweight also.

What evidence do you propose for this being a sane outcome to Mayweather vs Brook :patsch

Exactly all the people saying it would have done something to his career would be the same ones saying it was a garbage win if he would have fought him. He's only talked about because PBF didn't fight him. Not only that PBF is a stylistic nightmare for Margo and wouldn't lose a round to him. How many times do we have to see him against that style to realize he owns it? Easy work.

Yea and we have people saying he'd beat Hearns, Robinson, Leonard, Napoles, etc. at 147 when he's never faced a live body at 147.

You also have people making Pac competitive with the above names. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

No the same people who praised Mosley for beating his ass would, have gave Floyd the same props ..Like I have said it made a world of diffrence for other fighters but for Floyd he would have been a nobody just to justify the duck ..

Well they're idiots. But I've rarely heard anybody say Pacquiao was anywhere near a great WW.

But we have quite a lot of people really pumping up Floyd's WW run.

Undefeated Cotto at 147 in 2008 was the biggest fight to make in boxing outside of an Oscar rematch.

Rematch with Oscar at 147 in 2008. If he took that instead of letting Pac take it then he gets the TKO and gets the notoriety Pac got for being only guy to stop Oscar.

    Pacquaio in 2010.

    Kostya 140 in 2005.

Only other guy I could say he chose not to fight is Margarito but the reasons why have already been mentioned. Would have been a really interesting fight. Could Floyd keep him off with Margarito's granite chin and Floyd's brittle hands?

I can't see where he was expected to fight Williams. Williams beats Margarito July 07, about a week before Floyd signed to fight Hatton. Floyd beats Hatton in December 07 then Williams loses to Quintana couple months later. Floyd retires beginning of June 08, later that month Williams beats Quintana in 1 round. From there till his last fight in 2011 Williams NEVER fights at 147 again. And yet people say Floyd ducked him, but do not mention any of the other 147 champions in that time period who did not fight Williams either. Such as

    Pacquaio
    Mosley
    Cotto
    Berto
Margarito (was offered chance to avenge defeat after Cotto fight)

Surely if Floyd is guilty of ducking Williams then these guys are too?
