What fights would you like to see Ricky Hatton take before he retires?

(Given that he wins his comeback, confidence builder against Lazcano; nothings a given.)

At a guess he probably has 3 or 4 (maybe 5 at a real push) fights left, after the Lazcano match. Who would you like to see him fight in that time; lets not turn this into another hate thread, please.

There are no really interesting fights at 140 for Hatton and all the top boy's at 147 beat him.

Hatton could probably mop up at 140 now but the comp is'nt interesting to me.

The only fight at 140 was Hatton vs Witter. :-(

There are far better fighters, and more exiting fighters at 140 then Witter, tonight clearly showed that. You must be gutted tonight being such a fan and all.

like who and what? Give some names please.
Witter's record is better than anyone else at 140 in my opinion.

Ricardo Torres may be more exciting, but better? Not sure about that.
Malignaggi? Hardly an exciting fighter, and a very sketchy record.
Kotelnik - probably not much between today's Witter and him, but again he does not make for great fights.
    who else?

so again, I challenge you to back up those statements you made.

Give it a break this thread is supposed to be about Ricky Hattons future prospective opponents. Junior has had more then his fair share of exposure of late, but he simply isn't on the radar now, for the time being, at least; at best. Time to move on.

Malignaggi has been in with tougher fighters than Witter, Cotto, Herman N@@@@@do, Edner Cherry and he beat Ndou far easier than Witter did.

Ive always said that Malignaggi's speed would offset Witters unorthodx ability, which isnt that unorthodox after tonight.

Malignaggi is light year ahead of Timothy Bradley who hadnt fought anyone in the top 50:oops:

Face it guys the hype train is over:rofl

Back to Hatton, i would like him to face Malignaggi and then move to 147 for either a rematch with Joy or a superfight with Cotto.

Personally Cotto brutalises Hatton, BUT it would be a good fight to close your career on.

Not for a fighter but for the fans

Last night Witter was knocked down, and turned over convincingly by a guy who has never fought a top 50 opponent before and was an extreme outsider. Witter was 1/10 on to win, insane odd's. Good, average or even poor fighters are not supposed to lose fights like that. The fights was a total and utter mismatch.

On top of that It wasn't even an exiting fight and with Witters history of such, it needed to be.

Perhaps Junior will make a comeback, I hope he does, but in the mean time, It's time to move on!

Once again this thread is supposed to be about opponents people would like to see Hatton face before he retires.

    147 is where it's at.

    140 is dead!

    FFS we know. :patsch

There are no "exciting" opponents for Hatton to face at 140 and he can't beat anyone at 147.

Both Witter and Hatton have done a good job at ****ing up the only fight worth a toss at 140. :-(

Hatton for refusing to fight him already and Witter for sticking the house out last night.

147 is where it's at and that's where i'll be at.

I don't care what any of the 140lbers do anymore.

again, you have not answered either of my questions. Questions I made as a direct response to your claims.

I was on 11/2 Bradley last night but as a Witter fan i'm gutted at the result. Bradley has never lost and went into the fight an unknown quantity. Seeing as Witter has slowed and reflexes seemed to be on the wane I guessed it was worth a try at 11/2. No, I still don't think Bradley is anything special.

Bradley ain't special but he isn't gonna be an easy night for anyone. He's strong, hungry and determined. And he's got some decent fundamentals I thought.

    Hatton's last few fights?

Well I think tyhe Lazcano - Malignanni route is lined up. That's not too shabby.

Then Floyd over here, but whether that is realistic in money terms I don't know.

Floyd beat Hatton convincingly enough and I think Hatton is past his best, but over here without Cortez reffing I believe it could be a fairly competitive and entertaining fight.

    Then Hatton should quit.

If it isn't Floyd it will be Oscar (147) or Pacquaio (140) I believe. But Malignanni isn't a foregone conclusion...

yea that would be a good fight i think.. khan vs hatton.. that would be a superfight... by the time hattons beat malignaggi and got KO'd by floyd, he can come back to britain and retire from a Khan TKO in the 8th
