What fights would you like to see Ricky Hatton take before he reties?

Well wouldn't it depend on how impressive Pacquiao looks at junior welter? 5 pounds is a lot of weight for a guy who relies on his explosive speed and power, which was definitely at his best at feather. Those attributes have even diminished at superfeather...

I suppose it depends on how you rank fighters when they scale the weights. The way they are talking, I don't see Pacquiao having too many meaningful fights at 140 before jumping in with Hatton. That being the case, how can he be ranked highly? I'm one of these people that likes to see somebody at the weight before making a judgement

It was the same with Joe, I didn't rate him highly at 175 until he beat Hopkins

Of course it wouldn't really matter as long as Hatton beats Malignaggi and a few others too. I was just making the point, if he fights Mayweather and inevitably loses at 147, and then fiddles around with Pacquiao he could be wasting precious time to seal his legacy at 140.

I'd like to see Hatton fight Malinaggi in the autumn and then fight Cotto in 2009.

I think he'd beat Malinaggi, but its by no means a certainty. Malinaggi is fast and has a good jab, something Hatton always has a few problems with. Despite that, Malinaggi hasn't got the power to keep Hatton away from him, so eventually Hatton will start roughing him up and breaking him down.

The Cotto fight is the one I have wanted to see for about 3 or 4 years. Even though most people ridicule the idea that Hatton has a chance in this fight, I would still love to see it. Two warriors, both brutal body punchers and who like to come forward, it would make for an excellent matchup. Even though Cotto would be a clear favourite, I cant see it being a walkover for him. Hatton is legit world class only slightly out of his prime, he will make it an interesting fight.

After that? he might aswell retire unless he can land the Mayweather rematch. If he beats Malinaggi and Cotto he might get that fight, but that a big if.
