I first heard about how good the Rocky movies were and bought the collection. Loved it and got into boxing, starting with Tyson and got into modern boxing. Only 15 right now btw.
me being born 27th june 1988 makes me born a tyson fan, my uncle is a massive tyson fan and made me into one ive loved boxing since i can remember.....
I come from a family of amateur boxers. Some years I don't feel like a fan just get burned out from talking about boxing all the time and watching "film" on fighters. My brother tried his hand in mma and still knows plenty of the pro fighters. Around that community you hear them talk like they know how to box and how it was easy, based on there sparring with equally bad technical boxers. I found myself defending the sweet science(that my entire family grew up with and has given us many wonderful life experiences) against these so called expert mma fighters. During this time I found my love for the sport as a fan once again. Previously, I didn't know much about boxers past my own weight class but now this year with trying to educate people about boxing I educated myself at the same time and know I find myself loving all the characters that boxing has. From Promoter, Fighter, Blogger, Hater, Fanatic, and Writers love them all. To me boxing is a lifestyle, it has so much to offer to many people of all walks of life. You don't have to be a pro boxer or a young prospect to experience the thrill of fight. How boxing makes your soul tougher. Teaches you to pick yourself up from a defeat and keep fighting. I am looking forward to reading everyone's own story.
My gramps and pops. Grandpa was big ali fan. I really grew up watching the great middleweight era of the 80's . We hated leonard like we hate *****. Duran, hagler, hearns I was hooked.
Tyson's comeback really, and DLH's rise to fame. I didn't follow the sport at all before then, but I'd heard many stories of Ali and Leonard from my dad, which kept me intrigued. I also remember knowing who each heavyweight champ was through my years at lower school. Shows how much times have changed. You won't find many non-fans of the sport being able to name a heavyweight champ today.
the benn/mcclellen fight. still only feels like yesterday i watched that, went through a roller coaster of emotions with that fight & was deeply saddened as to what unfolded afterwards...
lmao... You forgot to mention "nerds" will know what the **** this is. I'm from the 90's, potna. Maybe I was too drunk and coked up to remember this ****... I know NOT what the **** this contraption is. Some sort of cable box or some **** one would have to think...
Family got HBO to our cable. I watched my first fight ever, it was some fast black guy vs a bigger guy. Later on I found out that fast black guy was RJJ. RJJ Ko'd him with his hands behind his back and I became a huge RJJ fan. I watched all his fights which led me to watching more boxing which led to me becoming a hardcore fan. Thank you mom and dad for ordering HBO.
