    Grading system:

    A
    = elite e.g. p4p
    B = world class e.g. IBF champ
    C = continental level e.g. European title
    D = domestic level e.g. national title
    E = regional level e.g. area champion

    Please give reasons

    Too big of a drop off from World class to Fringe contender tbh ... could have 1 or 2 more levels between that ... Champion and Contender for example.

    I would put Kessler on World class level and Woods and Froch as Champion level.

    They all are the bearers of elite level mandibles, and that is all that matters in todays world.

    Froch and Kessler 3 yrs ago.........Froch A, Kessler A-.
    Froch today, B+ Kessler today B.

    Who is Woods and why is his name in the same sentence as two current top contenders in the SMW/LHW division?

    I rate Froch a B+ at 34 y/o bc he still has great power, a granite chin and an iron will. He fights smart as well, and rarely allows his opponents to foul him to his detriment. Kessler on the other hand has always fallen into those traps and it has hurt him. Also, Froch is willing to take shorter $$$ fights against the biggest names bc he knows he is still on the cusp of greatness. Kessler however turned down Bute twice for 2-3X what Froch is getting. Obviously the B level Kessler KNOWS he's aint got any chance at all of beating the A++++++ Bute.

    Usual grading system:

    A = elite e.g. p4p
    B = world class e.g. IBF champ
    C = continental level e.g. European title
    D = domestic level e.g. national title
    E = regional level e.g. area champion

    Journeyman would be E and at most D, but definitely not C.:good

    You think those guys used to be elite? I think Froch's lack of speed rules him out of that category

    Woods is a former ibf lhw champion. He went 1-1-1 with Glen Johnson. I included him as a kind of measuring stick
    But his lack of speed allowed Ward to completely shut him down and potentially Bute could do the same thing.
    His loss to Ward is a tainted loss. It's a shame the ref didnt do his job

    I read that Kessler denied he was offered big money to fight Bute?

    I havent watched enough of Bute so I cant really give him a grade. He is a top fighter though

    Like I said.......lack of speed at SMW/LHW is not an end all to be the best. Both Kessler and Froch's power and endurance, heart, will and granite chins, coupled with their abilities to fight at a distance vs slick fighters keep them at or near the elite level. But like I said, Kessler has fallen into snares vs the likes of Calzaghe, Ward and even Froch. While he wasn't schooled by anybody, ever, he does tend to fight the other guys fight, and it cost him.

    As for Kessler's denial.....let's do the simple math. Showtime guarantee+gate+Euro TV $$$$ = 3+ mil. Interbox has not hidden their negotiations and have been forthright in all their attempts to get Bute into the biggest fights.
