His best wins are a weight-drained Toney and a green Hopkins.
Besides that he defeated fighters like Richard Frazier,Bryant Brannon,a mediocre heavyweight like John Ruiz...etc.....
Why do some people consider him as one of the best purely based on talent alone? He has the worst pedigree of all the champions and fought poor competition....
To be really considered as one of the best ever you need talent, heart and fight the best contenders available.

    His best wins:

    1. James Toney (great win)
    2. Green Bernard Hopkins (nearly great win)

Other notable wins are definitely Virgil Hill and John Ruiz (because it was at heavyweight).

1 - John Ruiz. Beatin Ruiz at HW is his most serious achievment. That's a great win. How many guys at around this weight could build beat Ruiz?

2 - Hopkins. Good win over a to be dominant champion.

3 - Toney. Good win over the p4p #2 even alllowing for James Toney's weight drained condition.

I agree that Jones' resume v his talent is ridiculous. But there it is.

Roy beat two great fighters in the form of Hopkins and Toney. Hopkins wasn't at his peak in that fight but he was near it. Let's also not forget that Roy wasn't at his peak either. The whole weight drained argument is ridiculous when you talk about the Toney fight. Toney was completely dominated in that fight.

As far as Roy taking on the best contenders available, that's exactly what he did at LHW. The only top contender that he didn't fight was DM. Besides him, he took on everyone at LHW. If someone disagrees, please name some top contenders from Roy's era at LHW that he didn't fight besides DM.

Nice way to discredit his win over Toney.

Weight drained or not, he made Toney look like a douche.
