Can any other legendary "unbeatable" ATG heavyweights boast better drubbing than being ktfo by crack addict bum mccall and bum rahman?

Don't know if I'd call Rahman or McCall typical "bums." McCall definitely isn't (hard jaw as heck, never tasted the canvas!) while Rahman may be borderline bum but for me he isn't one. "The Rock" had a more solid career than many.

    1. Lennox was not KO'd by McCall. He was up at six. It was a screwjob.

    2. Rahman and McCall were not bums.

    3. Comparable:

Jack Johnson's losses to Klondike Hayes and Joe Chonyski
Bob Fitzsimons losses to Mike Dooley and Jim Hall
    Jack Dempsey's loss to Flynn
Wlad Klit's losses to Brewster, Sanders, and Purity
Ken Norton's loss to Jose Luis Garcia
    Floyd Patterson's loss to Johanson

Hell, in context, even Joe Louis' loss to Schmeling, who was not well regarded at the time due to his own disgraceful and fraudulent title reign, was comparable.

'bum mccall and bum rahman' ... Man, that's pretty disrespectful to fighters who have been in there with the best of their era.

This is like someone only watching football if David Beckham or Messi are playing.

For people complaining about the 'bum' term it is definitely valid considering the way fans use it, basically anyone who loses quite a bit at top level, or doesn't have huge wins. For instance a guy like Hammer would be called a bum despite being a solid contender. Does it hurt our hearts a little ... maybe. But it's how the terms go.

What's interesting about Lewis getting flattened is that many people think he's tougher than Wlad and would beat the metrosexual weirdo. But Wlad has never been flattened the way Lewis was. It took a lot of punches to take Wlad out and only once did it happen before he was fatigued (Sanders). If Wlad landed a single bomb on Lewis, Lewis would absolutely collapse into a senseless heap.

Naming ranked contenders, the best fighters in the world "bums" to denigrate one of their opponents is probably the most pitiful thing we see on the forum on the regular that's not racism or doxing.

Oliver McCall wasn't a bum. He was ranked the number six heavyweight in the world. In other words, he was one of the best people at doing boxing on the planet. I don't know what your job is but I feel absolutely sure you're not among the very best people in the world at doing it.

Rahman wasn't a bum. He was ranked the number nine heavyweight in the world. There are a tiny handful of human beings who might reasonably have been expected to beat him the night Lennox Lewis fought him. Perhaps as many 30 people on the entire planet it would have been reasonable to match him with and perhaps as many as a dozen who would actually have been favored to beat him. He was one of the most dangerous boxers on the planet.

It's ok to hate Lewis. But denigrating good fighters to make your point is pathetic.

Couldn’t agree more. and what other all time great gets his ass beat for 4 out of 6 rounds, gets lucky That his rival gets a cut eye and then ducks the rematch By retiring?? Carlos Monzon sure as hell didn’t. Neither did Carl Froch for that matter

Joshua maybe, against that obese blob Ruiz. I'm actually half expecting Pulev to do a Rahman on the bodybuilder soon, then the British circle will be complete. lol

Champions don't fight "bums" but in terms of I guess what might be considered a gatekeeper standard of opponent, Tyson [vs Douglas] I suppose on paper, although to be fair most would rate the Douglas [29–4–1] he fought that night pretty highly, a good package of size, fitness, and heart.

    These threads are getting petty.

I like and rate Fury but let's not forget in his development years he was incredibly lucky to come away with an undeserved win in his 1s fight against John McDermott. If he got the loss he deserved, this thread could easily be titled,

"What's the worst loss on any world heavyweight champions record?"

No disrespect intended to Big John McDermott.
