It's everybody's fault that agrees with it.. It's the fans fault for pretending it doesn't matter.:deal
Are you still arguing with a point that I don't think anyone is making? De La Hoya was 149lbs three months before the fight, below 147 for a number of weeks before the fight, 145 at the weigh in and 147 in the ring. However, DLH wasn't 'weight drained' in the normal useage of that phrase (ie dehydrated for a weigh in).
Anyone that accepts 145 as Oscar's legit weight needs to come up with a reasonable explanation for why Manny, Freddie, and his nutritionist are all on record stating that they were surprised Pac registered a mere 142 when they were expecting 146. Four pounds doesn't normally disappear from a person while traveling from hotel to weigh-in, only to reappear immediately afterward.
They made a quick mention of this on the Sky Sports broadcast of the fight, something about "smoke and mirrors" regarding the weights.
I remember that. I also remember a segment from the "ODLH-MP HBO 24/7 show, where they showed Oscar preparing for a sparring session, just days before the fight, and he weighed in at 155 pounds before starting sparring. After a full sparring session (at least 8 rounds, maybe up to 12) he weighed in again and it showed 145 pounds. He said "No problem with weight at all. I feel great." One of these days, I'm gonna dig around for that on youtube. I know it's in there somewhere. I think I saw it on Youtube, back then.
