Have all his fans jumped ship after 1 defeat? He was the next best thing (since Lacy) until a month or so ago. What happend?
refueling then back on the title shot line, which runs through workrate creek and the light middlewieght valley
He was overhyped anyway. I heard people call him "The next Tommy Hears", based soley on his height. The guy does not know how to use his reach as an advantage, and the more he tries to take on top-level fighters on the inside, the more he will get beat. Course if he decides to work on his distance fighting, we could have a new MW champion sometime in 2009 (Which is what I predicted about a year ago....)
Whos Paul Williams???? Ha it was so funny how people viewed him as the next great thing but i told them. Carlos Quintana aint no bum and PW is.
I'm still on board. But, that is just the way sports fans are. A crack in the armor and everyone stops caring. Also recently derailed bandwagons include those for Juan Diaz and Andy Lee.
Just goes to show that at 147 pounds the competition is fierce. Williams has flaws that Quintana was good enough to capitalize on. That doesn't mean that anyone else wouldn't still have hells own time beating Paul. Despite the loss, Williams is still among the top six at Welter, and thats saying a lot. Floyd appears to be a couple of notches up from the rest, excluding Cotto and Mosely who're a single notch over Margarito, Quintana, and Williams. I just wish Floyd would remember he's a fighter and give Cotto his shot, or retire so we don't have to listen to the flapping gums anymore.
He Was Outworked and Expossed. + HBO's "Over" Hype of Williams Didn't help His Cause any. (Kinda Reminds Me of M. Grant's heavyweight Hype Train.....) I look Foward to Watch P. Williams Comeback Fight. It's the Bounceback that determines The Champion, Not the Loss.
