Didn't Sam have a fight coming up against an unnamed opponent before the inevitable "Training Camp KO1 VITKLIT." Waht happened...???
Vitali Quitschko should just retire and save us all the f*cking headache. I am sick and tired of this guy now.
There were talks of it being Golota, then it got changed to Audley Harrison, and then that got squashed a couple weeks back. So it's more and likely he's going to fight Vitali without a warmup come September.
Same here. Im sick of all these potential come backs he is always claiming and then he pulls away prior to the fight due to a injury or somthing. Its getting annoying now. He should just stay retired.
I honestly dont think he ducked Golota, I dont think anything was signed or official, there were just talks between the two sides.
Vitali is an unGodly commie filth that keeps the WBC and the HWT hostage with his lenin style mentality.
Audley Harrison would've been great: finally a world title shot, but doesn't the opponent have to be in the top ten of the organisation (WBC) for that?
Yes, and thats why it didnt happen, even Don King couldnt pull enough strings to make that happen. It would be the perfect fight for Peter to be best prepared for Vitali, the guy has good reach, strong jab, a good overall boxer.
Would it have been possible as a non-title bout? I suppose that it's a bit of a waste in terms of ticket sales not to be able to promote it as world championship boxing. I'd just so love for that to come off. I've followed Audley since the start: in fact watching him on the BBC was when I got into boxing, and I've followed his whole career: and well... it has been a hard career to follow!
I could imagine, his chin has been the laughing stock of this forum for awhile now, all that talent, yet he cant find a way to improve his mental toughness any. I dont know all rules regarding the WBC, but Don King can make things happen that shouldnt and rank certain fighters highly just so they could fight, but one look at Audley's resume or lack there of one, it probably was damn near impossible for King to make it happen, yet someone like Vitali can come back in the game after being out for 3 and half years and get a title shot whenever he wants, it makes no sense.
Yeah because Golota is really worth avoiding at this point. He picked Vitali because it's the better fight and his mandatory as the WBC stated when Vitali announced his retirement because of an injury. Trust me, Golota is hardly intimidating at this point.
He would also get knocked the hell out in 3 rounds. :yep Still a better fight than Golota. *EDIT: Also promoting this fight would be quite good and encouraging since Audley met Peter in the amateurs and won.
